Cutler traded to Bears!

Orton ran the same system in college... that shotgun style, hit the underneath option type offense.. i researched it, it was confirmed on NFL Live ESPN during their round session as well.. i don't know a whole lot about him but im ok with him

i just think if denver wastes one of those 2 1st rounders on a QB i will be royally pissed, it will have made the trade a waste of time..

Get Vick in thee, you have the 3 guys fight it out, use Vick in wild cat everyonce in a while, then use the 2 1st rounders on either 2 solid linebackers one outside one inside or a 3-4 DE and an inside backer. PERIOD..

Weber, how often does an average team with an average QB succeed in the playoffs?

You need a very good or better QB, with a very good or better team around them to succeed.

McDaniels thinks he's Pioli/Belichick. I see no playoffs for Denver in the next 3 years.

I hope Bronco fans can live with that.

Oh, ok, i forgot about Baltimore Ravens, NY Giants, Tampa Bay few years ago, you need a servicable QB and a good Defense and good running game.. Your on crack if youthink denver will miss the playoffs for next 3 years.. in the AFC West, thats a lot of wins there, there is only one squad that is better then they are and thats the Chargers with an older LT... im not saying they are great or that good, but they will surprise this year.. next year i definitely see playoff w/ this year as a possibility.

You must have missed the part where I said AVERAGE team. All of the teams you mentioned did have arguably average QBs, but the balance of their teams were VERY GOOD at a minimum.

Giants D was terrific
Ravens D was one of the best ever
Bucs D was very good

The difference is that the Broncos D is TERRIBLE. And Orton is average at best.

Good luck with thinking Denver is more than a 5 win team this season.

Denver will win 5 games just by accident. They play in the worst division in football, as KC and Oakland are horrendous andSD looks to be in decline.

But thinking they are a LEGIT "playoff team" is ludicrous IMO.

Russ is right. Their defense is sieve, they have a carousel at RB, and now an average QB.

Certainly not a recipe for success...ESPECIALLY in the playoffs. They are "one and done" at best.

That being said, I think Orton will definitely be a "servicable" QB.

[/QUOTE]Bet it is. Broncos win 6 games, I'll buy you an Orton Btoncos Jersey to wear to the 2010 NFFC draft weekend. If they win less than that, you buy me a Cutler Bears jersey. Deal?

Before you accept, know I'm 1-0 on my bets on this board. Tread lightly. :D

I TOTALLY agree with everything said here in regards to Denver (POOR D & lower quality QB now), BUT, how many here had Miami winning the AFC East last year after finishing 1-15 in 2007?
How many had Arizona going to the Super Bowl?
Kerry Collins leading the Titans to the #1 Seed in the AFC?

The AFC WEST is a pretty cruddy division and Denver could win it @ 8-8 just like SD did in '08.
Will they? I don't think so, but with all the parity in the league right now I wouldn't rule anything out....

In terms of FANTASY I think the trade was rather bad for all the big names (Cutler/Marshall/Royal) but could help Olsen move into the top 5 @ TE & Hester possibly into the 20/30 WR range....FORTE got EVERYTHING there last year so I'm not sure this helps him that much. Will the running lanes be more open? Yes, but his touches (which were extremely high in '08 as a % of total plays) should go down with a more balanced O this year.

It will be real interesting to see what Denver does with the draft picks....

Throw in Plax getting cut & TO to Buffalo & it's been a pretty eventful offseason so far.

'It will be real interesting to see what Denver does with the draft picks....'

Denver needs to rebuild there Def. and I beleive that's were they go. Draft play makers on def.

Mark Sanchez will go in the top 11, so if Denver really wants him they better move up.

Should be FUN.
