I'm sitting next to Moneymaker? All right! I was just hoping to get in the same league as him. So who else is here? I'm in the Leaderboard group effort.

I hope moneymaker doesn't get as lucky in fantasy football as he does at cards. If his 2003 poker proformance reincarnates, then we can be looking for big years out of : trent dilfer, lee suggs, micheal bennet, dante stallworth, david terrel, and perlice price. well that is if ol' moneymaker drafts them.
currently is- The Next Big Thing, not to be confused with the "Next Big Ding"...One is my Fantasy Team the other is my porno film.

well, if there's any regrets...
taking stephen davis before tatum bell.. the only thing that kept me from it was i needed a relatively HIGH floor. the LOWER ceiling didn't bother me as much. sure davis doesn't have the upside as bell, but for reasons named M.A. i really started getting down on TB.
looking at it tonite, i would have rather gambled most likely. oh well, thats why we play right?
best of luck to everyone! I met some really great guys today!

TL,
We had to phone in our picks today so too bad we didnt get to meet and mingle with everyone in person.
As far as the Tatum Bell/Stephen Davis/Mike Anderson thing, that's a very interesting situation and not one that I dont think anyone can confidently have the answers to at this point.
If Mike Anderson is the featured back in Denver for the entire season, then he is a great pick. That pick was probably based on 70% the Denver system, 30% the player in our minds. I thought the whole Bell running 3rd team all August was just a wake up call and he would eventually be given the nod, until last week when new stuff surfaced on why he really hasn't been playing.
Based on that info, Mike Anderson shouldn't lose his job this year unless he just gets hurt. I think most people, including us, had Bell well ahead of Anderson until this week.
So from my POV, I think you made the right move between the 2 backs. That's not to say the guy who drafted Bell made a bad pick. If he takes over in that system, then he will be phenomenal.
But with Davis, at worst, he will still get goal line carries and probably 15-20 carries a game as the season gets warmed up and he proves he is healthy. At best, something happens to Foster, and he is back to his old status as a solid RB2, giving you great value.
And you did roll the dice. If Davis runs well and/or you can get Mewelde Moore or Bill Green, or even a f/a pickup ala 2004 Reuben Droughns to do something, then that enhances the Manning pick and makes it potentially the best pick in the draft. If they don't, then that decreases the pick of taking Manning there.
But you are right, you do need to take shots when you hit weeks 14-16, and if you are still playing then, Manning is a tremendous weapon and could be a potential difference maker between you and everyone else.
I think for the most part this was a pretty good and tough group of people in this league. There weren't too many slips and most people did a nice job drafting. Last year, we were in the infamous Marcell Shipp/Correl Buckhalter in the 3rd round league, and there wasnt any of that this year.

Don Thompson,
Solid draft. You've got 3 RBs which is huge in this league as H2H counts the most as their is no League championship Game. (Of course I know you already know all that!)
Loved the TO, Shockey and Bulger picks. You beat us by 2 picks on both the TO and Shockey pick. Nice draft man.

Thanks Dave! Just need Brown or Bennett to come thru.
I think you did a great job from the #1 spot. We were debating over Anderson or Owens, it's tough when you need three solid running backs throughout the year.
I thought this league was very tough compare to the other draft boards.
Good job everyone and good luck!!
