June 26th $175 Auction DC

Guys, you're all bickering over 2nd and 3rd places here. Adhere to the Diesel, and consider it a lesson learned. We can all argue 'til the cows come home, but you see my team, even with no depth at RB, and you see what's inevitable. A first place finish. So for you guys to make bets on a possible second or third place finish at best seems silly. But who am I to butt in. I mean there's always a POSSIBILITY that I fall, to SECOND.

Guys, if you're willing, I'd like your thoughts on my team. I definitely screwed up taking 3 Ks all with the same BYE week and a 4th that won't kick a ball all year.

With that said, What are your thoughts on the rest of my team?

Brad Johnson Dal 10 1
Matt Ryan Atl 7 2
Chris Redman Atl 7 1

I would guess this team ends up 3rd!! Actually in the bottom half.

-Overpaid for Romo

-Overpaid for Burress

-Curtis would have been a nice 3rd but is a weak 2nd WR

-Not only did you waste one spot on a K that won't play this year. You may have wasted 2. I'd say Coutu is only 50/50. Mare may win that one.

-2 nice RB's but little depth. If one of them misses time, you'll be very weak there.

-Daniels is ok...but nothing behind him

-You took Jones right in front ofme. But I wouldn't want him as my 3rd/4th WR on this team

-I would have backed up Portis with Betts, considering your other RB's

-I thought you forgot to list a player or two...but there are 26 here. Maybe it seems "lacking" because of the K's.

-Barring a lot of injuries I would guess this team scores 2200-2300 points; with an upside of 2400. both 1st and 2nd will score in excess of 2500 points

-NOT one of your better efforts.

Thanks Rich. I was severly handcuffed once I overpaid for Romo. However, I really like Romo this year.

I agree, with as few Auctions I do, this was good practice for what is yet to come.

Thanks for the feedback.

UFFC - I think Riff's player and strategy assessment was spot on .

I ran quick numbers on the lge and I have you in the bottom five. I like Romo a lot too, but you'll get no benefit from paying that much for him, you'd be better off two quality starters there for less money, and I doubt Brad Johnson would be much of a handcuff if he missed time.

Kevin, thanks for the feedback!

While I don't think it's a bottom five team, I do agree with the assessmant on 2 lesser QBs to allow for more depth elsewhere.

[/QUOTE]Agreed. My fate was sealed with the top 4 guns (Romo, Portis, and MBIII, and Burress) I'll live or die with their health.
