Aug. 31 NY Super League Is SOLD OUT

Post by Tom Kessenich » Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:07 pm

We have a full slate of events the first weekend in New York at the Hotel Pennsylvania but I wanted to find out if there would be interest in an exclusive New York event on the first Friday. We did this in the NFBC and it was a big hit so I wanted to see if we could put something similar together in New York. My initial thought was to have a 12-team New York Only Super League on Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 pm ET. The other option would be a 12-team $1,000 New York Only Draft Champions league that Friday night also at 5 pm ET.

Would folks playing the first weekend in NY be interested in one of those ideas? If so, post your interest here with the league you'd prefer or email me at [email protected]. I think this could be a lot of fun if we can make it happen.

Here's a look at what else we're offering in New York over both weekends:

Friday, Aug. 31
Draft Champions (14 teams) Noon ET
Auction (14 teams) 5 pm ET

Saturday, Sept. 1
Classic 1 pm ET
Primetime 6 pm ET

Friday Sept. 7
Auction (12 teams) 11 am ET
Draft Champions (14 teams) 11 am ET
Draft Champions (12 teams) 6 pm ET
Auction (14 teams) 6 pm ET
Classic 7 pm ET
Primetime 7 pm ET

Saturday Sept. 8
Classic 1 pm ET
Primetime 6 pm ET

bumping this up.

I would be interested in a first weekend super or 1k draft champion league for weekend 1 in NY to kickoff the weekend.

Anyone want to join me?

Thanks Andy. We'd still like to do something that first Friday night. I know a lot of our New York guys are heading off to Vegas for the second weekend so this would be a great way to have some fun the first weekend with a special New York-only event. If it proves successful perhaps it's something we could try to do every year.

Andy's on the list so that means we only need 11 more folks to jump in and we'll set this up. Again, post your interest here or email me and we'll see if we can get the party started. Maybe there's a little extra incentive we can provide to get folks fired up. I'll see what I can do about that. :)

Who else wants to take part? We'll go with a 12-team Super or a 12-team DC. You tell me what you prefer and we'll make it happen.

I got no problem playing the MtM role for football coordinating the start of a NY tradition.

Nelson, Lowy, Jupinka etc....lets form a super or DC league.

Bring your A game.

If later in the evening works....we can certainly do that. 5 pm is tough on a friday.

All right, we have two people who are interested in doing a 12-team Super on Friday night Aug. 31. We'll go with 5 pm ET as the starting time but we can always change that later if the majority want a different time. So who else wants to take part? Let's have some fun the first Friday in New York. You guys don't want me drinking alone, do ya? :D

12-Team Super League
Friday, Aug. 31, 5 pm ET

1. Andy Saxton, Bear, Delaware
2. Neil Hassett Jr., Nissequoegue, New York
3. Michael Edelman, Elmwood Park, New Jersey (tentative)

Thanks Nelson. You guys are on the list now. Let's keep the momentum going and have some fun in NY.

Again, for now we'll keep this league at 5 pm ET. Glenn Schroter may be able to take part if we push the starting time back to 8 pm ET. Let's see how everything goes and we'll make a decision on the starting time later on. Sound good?

In MtM style....here is my sales pitch.

Lots of bells and whistles and surprises with this draft. We want to make this a staple of NY weekend 1 going forward.........

Sign up now and Jupinka promises to play with one arm tied behind his back to make it a level playing field!

OK Dave Martino is thinking about joining us for the Friday night Super. We'll lean on Dave a little more to get him to commit fully. :D Let's keep the interest going. This is starting to shape up nicely. Who else wants to dive in? Don't forget, this league features an 88% prize payout. That's a terrific ROI.

1. Andy Saxton, Bear, Delaware
2. Neil Hassett Jr., Nissequoegue, New York
3. Nelson Sousa/Chad Schroeder, Saugerties, New York
