Early Season NFFC Draft Results

Fitzgerald has the name and all the talent but to me not much upside. His Quarterbacking might not be much better than Gabbert. Kolb and Skelton are a major buzz kill for Fitz. Is he worth much more than the WRs ranked 20-25? Probably not unless Kolb progresses. Gronkowski seems a lot more valuable at that point. Stevie Johnson or Antonio Brown may give you close to the same numbers 3 rounds later.

Didn't Fitz have those same crappy QB's throwing to him last year? He put up some pretty solid numbers regardless. If either of those QB's improve just a bit, Fitz will out produce both Stevie and Brown.

When healthy, Kevin Kolb was actually putting up decent numbers (outside of INT's). He threw 1 pass in his final game of the year, so he basically played in 8 games and put up 1955 yards (nearly a 4000 yard pace) at 7.7 yard per attempt average (very solid) with 9 TD's (kinda low, but not atrocious, could easily have been 20 in a full 16 games).

Him and Skelton split basically 8 games each and Kolb had more yards on less attempts and Skelton had 14 INT!!! so I think Kolb is getting a horrible rep that isn't all his fault. With another year to gel, an improved O-Line, and the addition of Michael Floyd to what is a thin WR group behind Fitz, plus Ryan Williams in the backfield; Kolb can put up around 4200 yards and 22 tds, that's well within reach, and Fitz can still get a big chunk of that with 90+ receptions/8+ td if there's some consistency at the position.

It's hard to complete passes when your only receiver is tripled teamed on every play and the best thing your team had to offer was a one-dimensional Beanie Wells in the running game to draw in the safeties.

I like fitzgerald but my point is if you have the choice of Gronk and Fitz then Gronk is the my choice. I just finished a draft champions league and had the 14th pick. Graham, Gronk, and Fitzgerald were my choices for Rnd 2 pick one. I took Jimmy Graham. Much better QB and hes the number one TE on my board. I would have taken Gronk if Graham wasnt there. I see the top 2 tight ends as being more valuable than Fitzgerald.
