Dexter McCluster Is A RB In The NFFC

This was a popular question last week at NFFC drafts: Is Dexter McCluster a RB or a WR in the NFFC?

Answer: He qualifies only at RB in the NFFC.

He has a WR sticker in the live drafts, but we have stated from the beginning of the season that he was a Running Back last year with the Chiefs and that's where he qualifies to start the season. He will not change eligibility during the season or add eligibility at another position. He's a RB now and will be all season.

Yesterday on some of your team pages he did show as a WR, but that is being corrected. He's RB only.

Okay, hopefully we're all on the same page heading into the live drafts. He's looked good in the pre-season, so draft accordingly as a RB for 2012. Thanks all.

Speaking of position eligibility, can a player's position eligibility change in a year? I heard this on John Hanson's show on Sirius the other day, but never heard the answer. Not that this should/could/would even matter, but if Tebow lines up in the backfield along with Sanchez for X number of plays this year, can he gain eligibility at the RB position? Or is the answer, maybe in some leagues, just not the NFFC?

McCluster can not be started as a WR in any NFFC. They system clearly has him as an) only. Next to his name it does say WR and we are fixing that now, but in no instance can he be allowed to be played at WR. We will fix the display error soon.

I continue to get calls and emails about Dexter McCluster and maybe it's our own fault for that. But just to be clear:

DEXTER McCLUSTER IS RB ONLY IN THE NFFC!!

He could only be drafted as an RB in all of our online leagues and he was RB only in all of our live drafts. The fact that the sticker he had at the live events was WR had NOTHING to do with his eligibility in the NFFC. Those don't always match perfectly.

You can only start McCluster as an RB on your team site, but the confusion is the way we have him listed on your team page. It does say Dexter McCluster, WR, Kansas City Chiefs and that is where some of the confusion lies. I don't understand how that one area has him designated as a WR, but it's pulling that info from a section that we still need to update without disrupting other fantasy sites and that's the problem. We're working on it, but even with that listing when you go to start him the only position that appears is RB.

We'll eliminate that line of confusion shortly, but until then start McCluster at the position you drafted him, which is RB. Thanks all.

I haven't looked at the recent e-mail blast, but did you add this into the e-mail blast? Most players don't even come on the boards so they may not have noticed this and we were all drunk this weekend so maybe they didn't hear you in Vegas.

McCluster is listed under WR's in my Free Agent availability page for my online championship team. I understand he can only be started as a RB, but this is misleading those who aren't "in the know" from these boards.

McCluster's RB-only status was the top story in a newsletter sent out to all NFFC participants two weeks ago. His eligibility status has not been confined only to the message boards. As Greg said, we hope to get his designation fixed soon but he can only be started at RB or flex.
