RB- Sproles
-Ivory
-F. Jax
-Deangelo
-M. Bush
-M. Reece
-Gerhart
-Hunter

WR-Megatron
-Roddy
-Nelson
-Maclin
-DHB
-Donald Jones

TE-V. Davis
-B. Celek
-D. Allen

I don't see this one being competitive. It's hard to give up that many points at RB and still have a chance. Maybe this team shocks the world but I don't think it has much of a chance.

In last nights draft I did something like what you did with going WR strong and starting with Calvin. at WR I had

Calvin/Cruz/Antonio/Maclin/DeSean

So this is similar but I think I might go one deeper at WR as I don't see DHB being a starter. But at RB I got:

McFadden/Murray/Lacy/Ingram

So I would have 4 guys to contribute at RB whereas you would need an injury to have a RB3. And I still have 4 starting QB's and 5 starting TE's. You have some upside at TE but things might need to fall your way a bit with Celek or Ballard. I do like Vernon.

I know you don't like my RB's so you probably don't like this team but I surely wouldn't trade you. I would rather worry about my team needing to stay healthy to compete rather than needing an injury for my guys to see the field.

Wayne[/quote]

Ok let me pick your team apart a little. Cruz is still a holdout, Desean is a head case and practicing with the second team right now, Lacy hasn't won the job over Franklin yet, Murray misses more games than he plays, and Ingram is 3rd on the Saints RB depth chart (I'd prefer Thomas). McFadden has had more bad years then good ones.

Our opinions definitely differ on DHB. I see a lot of potential there. Wayne is old and Hilton is still somewhat unproven. Luck could be a top 5 QB this year. Jonathan Stewart is no lock to start over Deangelo Williams. Williams had a nice end to last season. Fred Jackson, M Bush, and Deangelo will have fairly prominent roles regardless if injury occurs to starters. Bush is the goal line back for the Bears. If a talent free guy like Shonne Green can run for 1000 yards for the Jets than Ivory can run for 1200. I only need average RB 2 numbers on this team.

Hey David - we Finally agree on something and that is that we really, really disagree! LOL

I could easily be wrong about all of this. It's been known to happen. :D But I like swinging for the fences and maybe all of my players get injured and all that don't end up losing their jobs. At least I'll have my defenses for scoring :D

Yeah or maybe we are wrong and both of our teams win titles  . That's best case scenario for us. No doubt either team could win we just like different ways of building a winner.

Is Cam Newton in the mid-late 4th round (or even 5th) shaping up to be one of this year's best QB values? Unlike Kaepernick, Luck and Wilson - who require some extrapolation to project to a possible top-6 finish, Newton's already done it... TWICE! And that's with finishing 2011 poorly, and starting last year the same. If he can put together a full season the way he's capable, he can lead all QBs.

Though Matt Ryan may appear to be a similar value (with similar ADP), isn't SJax a shoe-in to beat last year's 1162 combined rushing yards of Turner/Rodgers? Plus he's a much better pass catcher than Turner was. As talented as Ryan's receivers are, I expect a little dropoff from his 4700 yards last year and I wouldn't be surprised if he loses a few TDs too to SJax at the goal line.

Are Romo and Stafford 2 rounds later even better value though? I'm not sure either of them have the potential to lead all QBs the way Newton does, but 2 rounds is 2 rounds and could allow building a better core at other positions first.

I have taken Cam in several DC drafts in the 4th round and love the fact he is dropping that far. Tom Brady is dropping as well, to at least the 3rd and sometimes the 4th round. Sure, his receivers are injured or injury prone and he isn't what he once was, but he has put up monster stats with lesser receivers and he is still Tom Brady (unfortunately ;) ). I think QBs in general are dropping because of the huge amount of decent RBs going in the first 2 rounds and, like you said, if you can get Stafford or Romo in the 5th or 6th round, there is nothing wrong with that.
