NFFC Early Season Draft Results

Definitely where drafting early can help because I bet all these QBs start sneaking up the board as the summer goes by. No way you get Cam in the 4th, closer to the season imo.

I agree matt and was just discussing that with my son. Once camps open and some RBs get hurt, QBs will bubble up.

The last DC I did Romo went top of the 8th round. I took RG3 bottom of the 7th in a defensive move. Two teams hadn't taken a QB yet and I didn't want them to get Romo or RG3 in the 8th.

Looking at the two DC leagues Greg posted, I find it interesting that by the end of round 6, just about the same positional totals are reached:
League 1 - 12 QB, 27 RB, 28 WR, 5 TE; League 2 - 9 QB, 30 RB, 28 WR, 5 TE
League 2 (which I participated in) was a bit less aggressive on QB, but took more RB early (21 in the first 3 rounds) instead.
So the average approach is not that unexpected - by the end of round 6, the average team has 1 QB, at least 2 (possibly 3) RB, at least 2 (possibly 3) WR, and about half the teams had picked up a TE. So the owners are deciding whether to take an elite QB or TE (if they take one of these two positions most end up with 5 total RB/WR; if they take one from each position they end up with just 4 RB/WR, and if they take neither they end up with 6 RB/WR).
The age-old question is which position is deep enough that you can gather talent in rounds 7-12 to make up for ignoring it earlier? Current prevailing wisdom is that QB is deep this year, but you still need to draft one by round 6 if you want to be sure of getting a top 12 option.
