I think you have issues at RB personally.

I think the Denver backfield is a mess and you may not have a genuine RB2.

My wr corps is a little short. 2nd round Marshall & Thomas went the two picks before and I would have been very happy with either. In the 4th I ended up going Gronk after Welker went the pick before me.
I love my RBs. 4 deep with some good handcuff guys later. I don't see the Denver situation the same.

another team i am glancing at today that i like is rusty butter 3. Their top 3 WR are dynamic in AJ green, julio jones and Tavon Austin. If RBs Murray, Lamar Miller and Vereen give him decent performance...thats a talented core. He has Luck as his main QB.

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong :)

I'm going to post a few teams on here. Anyone that would like their team review please PM me or you can subscribe to ScoutPRO as all team recaps and Draft board will be on there by end of the week. ;)

Beckett Magazine Fantasy Football Draft Recap

Greg and Tom from the NFFC (National Fantasy Football Championship) were nice enough to have me participate in a 12 team draft that will be featured in their magazine that will hit newsstands later this month. The scoring format and starting lineup requirements are below. If you’re not familiar with the NFFC take a minute to review the rules below before reading the article. It will help you understand as you read the draft breakdown. Plus any good owner before they draft always gets familiar with the scoring and rules of the league. One thing that is unique with this contest is they utilize 3RR (3rd Round Reversal). That is also described below……

All NFFC Primetime draft leagues will use 3RR (3rd Round Reversal) in 2013, meaning that the draft order will go back down to 12 to start Round 3 and then continue in serpentine fashion after that. The NFFC is using 3RR in 2013 to balance the talent pool throughout these 12-team leagues. (1-12 in Round 1, 12-1 in Round 2, 12-1 in Round 3, 1-12 in Round 4 and continuing from there in serpentine fashion).
7. Scoring
Players can accumulate points in a number of ways:
PASSING
1. .05 points for every yard passing (works out to 1 point every 20 yards)
2. 6 points for every passing touchdown
3. 2 points for every 2-Point conversion
4. minus 2 points for every interception
5. minus 1 point for every lost fumble
RUSHING
1. .10 points for every yard rushing (works out to 1 point every 10 yards)
2. 6 points for every rushing TD
3. 2 points for every 2-Point conversion
4. minus 1 point for every lost fumble
5. 6 points for a recovered offensive fumble for a touchdown (RB, QB, WR, TE)
RECEIVING
1. .10 points for every yard receiving (works out to 1 point every 10 yards)
2. 6 points for every receiving TD
3. 1 point for every reception for all players
4. 2 points for every 2-Point conversion
5. minus 1 point for every lost fumble

6. Starting Lineup Requirements
Starting lineups will consist of:
1. 1 Quarterback
2. 2 Running Backs
3. 3 Wide Receivers
4. 1 Tight End
5. 1 Flex Player (RB, WR or TE)
6. 1 Kicker
7. 1 Team Defense/Specials Team

OK now that you have become familiar with the league setup let’s talk about the draft itself. I think this article will be useful because I will be analyzing each teams draft and talking about “Roster construction”, “Identifying Sweet spots in the Draft” and “Thought Process” while drafting. All those are key factors in having a successful draft. It’s real simple to just give you a cheat sheet, wish you the best of luck in your draft and send you on your way. But whether you’re a rookie or veteran to Fantasy Football is that really going to help you draft a strong dominating team? It will help you draft good players, but not help you put together a strong balanced team. Here at ScoutPRO I’m committed to helping you win your league and it starts with your draft. As you enter a draft you need to be able to adjust to anything that comes your way. Whether it’s a run at a position, maybe a guy falling too far or maybe you need to push up a player to make your draft work. Keep in mind that the teams I’m going to be analyzing were all drafted by some of the best High Stakes players around. So whether I’m critical of their picks or not I still respect the teams they drafted, I just might have a different view on it.

Team 1: Very solid team built around AP. Will get very good production out of his QB and TE position with Stafford, Pitta (Not a fan, but should be OK) and Super-hype Jordan Cameron (Love him though). I normally do not like how a team looks when drafting QB and TE back to back because it usually can leave you weak at RB or WR, but he was able to pull it off for the most part. He has a volume WR in Amendola to go with big-play receivers V-Jax, Britt and Floyd. He doesn’t really have a plug and play 3rd RB at the moment. Brown and Thomas would become instant starters with an injury to McCoy or Ingram. Hillman is a role player at best since Fox seems to trust Moreno more. Good depth overall and he looks to have the next man up in Dallas when…….I mean IF Austin gets hurt. Team will contend for the title.
Best Pick: Jordan Cameron Worst Pick: None

Team 3: This was one of my favorite teams after the draft, but after having time to look over the draft board it is not a favorite of mine anymore. QB production could be a rollercoaster ride all season with Eli and Freeman. Eli posted 4 weeks of single digit fantasy points last year and I promised myself I would never draft him again. Freeman had a strong stretch mid-season last year, but then was rather inconsistent. He should be better this year. Vick is the wild card for this team as the ultimate boom or bust and this owner was very smart get him since it cost him nothing (17th Rd). I like Foster and CJ2K as his top 2 RB’ which should give him really solid production. Mendenhall seems like a good value in the 7th, but I’m not buying that that O-line can run block well enough. Plus he has to contend with Williams, Taylor and Ellington for touches. Arians’ offense doe not utilize the RB in the passing game. He did well to handcuff Foster with Tate. His WR’s seem deep, but I think Wallace, Torrey and Moore are very inconsistent. I like Givens, but he has the same skill set as the others I mentioned. Cruz and Bowe should be very good. He waited on TE and got Gates at a value in the 12th. Problem is we are talking about Gates and he didn’t take another shot at TE the rest of the draft. I think this team would look a lot better if he had gone Cam Newton over Wallace, Tony Gonzalez instead of Torrey Smith and then swap Mendy for a WR. A couple of picks could come back to haunt him. I know this owner and he is one of the best players in the World. Overall I think this team could struggle with consistency.
Best Pick: Ben Tate Worst Pick: Torrey Smith/Rashard Mendenhall

Team 4: Got to love the JC/Bush start. Then the next 4 picks I couldn’t disagree more. Colston in 3rd? Not with Cruz and Jordy on the board, no way. Wayne and Decker can’t go anywhere but down from last yr. Overall his WR’s look solid on paper, but there is just no explosion there. Trade Colston for Cruz and take Colston in 4th instead of Wayne and I would feel better. Not feeling Lacy in 6th with Gonzo and a few really good WR’s still on the board. Great deal on Romo so he is good at QB. Rudolph should be OK, but don’t love him. Overall it’s a team that will compete, but nothing special.
Best Pick: Tony Romo Worst Pick: Eddie Lacy

Team 5: Megatron, Forte and Roddy with the first 3 picks is what I call, Money in the Bank. I might prefer a couple of different players than the ones he took, but that is just player preference. When I look at how this team was put together I really really like it. Top QB in Brady I don’t care what anyone says he will get it done and he is solid everywhere with good depth at each position. I don’t agree with taking a defense so early, but this is one of my favorite teams in terms of how the team was put together. Overall this owner had a good feel for the draft and the team will contend for the title.
Best Pick: Matt Forte Worst Pick: Houston defense

Good stuff Nelson. I'll defend my team since you were so horribly wrong with a few comments. :D

I love my WRs. Colston never gets any love but he's always a strong PPR option and I don't see any reason to expect regression as the 1B option in an elite passing game. Wayne is still a very good WR with a stud QB. He's clearly Luck's top option in their passing game. They weren't my first two choices for my top two WRs (I wanted Harvin and VJax) but I think both are strong and I have no problems with them as a fallback. I agree Decker will regress a bit but if he goes from a WR2 to WR3 he still should provide me with what I need. Moore is always undervalued and Brown is one of my favorite sleeper WRs. I'll stack my WRs up against anyone in this league in terms of total depth. :)

The Lacy/Gonzo thing is the one pick I may have done differently. I never considered any WRs there because I knew I'd get more good ones later (which I did). I was torn between Gonzo and Lacy. I thought strongly about Gonzo but the ability to get the last RB2 I like as my RB3 outweighed my desire to get the last top TE on the board. Had I passed on Lacy there I would not have been nearly as happy with my RB depth since there was a strong drop-off to the next tier in my estimation. But I do agree Gonzo was very viable there and it's possible if I had the same option 10 times I'd pick Lacy five times and Gonzo five times.

Wait so you agree on Decker and somewhat agree on Lacy/Gonzo, so that means I was only horribly wrong a couple of times in your eyes not a few? Just getting the facts straight ;)

Thanks for sharing your write-up. I thought it was very insightful, especially as it relates to team 5 :) I always rank the teams after the draft (starters) using my projections. This was one of the most balanced I have ever been in. My projections had 10 teams all within 42 points of each other. This should be a very close contest.

I agree Decker will regress but he still has Top 25 upside in my opinion, making him at worst a low-end WR2. As my WR3 that's nice value. :) I disagree that Lacy was a bad pick. Again, as a RB3 there's a lot of potential value there so I think he was absolutely viable there. I do think you could make a strong argument for Gonzo there, however, and that was the one pick I wasn't sure about. I could've gone in either direction there. Seeing how the draft unfolded and who was left at RB when the draft came back to me I'm very glad I went with Lacy. But given the drop-off at TE after Gonzo in my opinion you could certainly argue that he was the better positional value pick. That was the one decision in the draft I really deliberated about.
