Re: SOLD OUT: NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League
Last year you guys played poker after the game until early morning hours. I'm not sure if anyone wants to do that again, but if so let KJ know. I think he brought the chips and cards last year. George Melbrod brought some poker chips too, but he won't be there on Thursday night. Just a thought.Don Draper wrote:and to think...Thursday night is supposed to be the "tame" night of the week.

I thought this was 30 too...I'm not going to bail, but for that much jack I prefer 30 rounds.Don Draper wrote:this is the first post in the thread...Greg Ambrosius wrote:Congrats to the tag team of Shawn Childs and Chris Schinker for winning the debut NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League title. That was a tough, tough group to bid real money on your first two picks and to beat over 16 weeks. Job well done gentlemen.
And a special thanks to KJ Duke, who set this up. It was a great kickoff event before our private NFL Viewing Party and it set the tone for the type of kickoff party we should host each year in Las Vegas. So with that in mind, KJ has already put plans in motion for the 2nd annual NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League, which will take place on Thursday, Sept. 5th at the Bellagio Las Vegas.
KJ is proposing a $1,000 entry fee this time with the following prize payouts:
1st - $6,500
2nd - $3,500
3rd - $1,500
Then 100% of the money generated through the bidding for your first two draft spots -- including the 2nd round which sets the draft order through Round 30 -- will be distributed equally to the 16 weekly "skins" winners. It's a great, great setup.
Let's set this up for a Noon PT start time so that we can get all 30 rounds in before the 4:30 pm PT kickoff. We can move it slightly earlier or later just to be safe. Totally your call on the starting time.
The 14 owners who were in the 2012 league get first dibs on spots through May 1st. That's only fair since they helped launch this format. If there's demand for a second league, we can definitely take new signups and see if we can host another one of these leagues at the same time or even after the NFL game. If you competed in this league last year and want to reserve a spot for 2013, just contact me at [email protected] or post your desire on this thread. No payment is needed until Aug. 1st for any of our live events. Thanks all.
Thanks again everyone. This was the perfect KICKOFF event.
Here's the current signup list:

Re: SOLD OUT: NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League
I think we had it at 26 last year because all live DCs were 26. I don't care how many rounds - if STATS can manage 30 and no one objects we could do 30.
Re: SOLD OUT: NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League
I didn't play last year and was going off what was posted.kjduke wrote:I think we had it at 26 last year because all live DCs were 26. I don't care how many rounds - if STATS can manage 30 and no one objects we could do 30.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League
All of our Draft Champions Live Leagues are 26 rounds, with the Draft Champions National Championship going 35 rounds. The Trendsetters and Billy Waz League had a history of 30-round DCs, so we now have built a contest for that length. Since this is a private league, we can go 26 rounds or 30 rounds if you want. Just keep in mind that the NFL Kickoff is at 4:30 pm PT, so if you're adding 4 more rounds you might be pushing it close to kickoff.kjduke wrote:I think we had it at 26 last year because all live DCs were 26. I'll let KJ the commissioner make the call here and we just need to know beforehand so that we get this league set up in the system properly before entering picks. Sound good? Thanks all.

Since it was advertised as 30 rounds, it should probably be 30. Let's go with that.

Tom will set it up for 30 rounds. Let's get everyone up to the suite a little before 1:00 to get the bidding portion going on time. We can still get through 30 rounds in 3 1/2 hours.kjduke wrote:Since it was advertised as 30 rounds, it should probably be 30. Let's go with that.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFFC Kickoff Gridiron League
Last year's draft was 26 Rounds and this year's draft should be 26 Rounds.
We do 30 Rounds for the Trendsetters because it starts in February.
We did 30 in the Billy Waz and I wish we only did 26.
