If we continue to have h2h standings in 2014 for the regular season, then a monetary reward needs to be provided to the winner. Being the best at something and having nothing to show for it is quite meaningless. Perhaps splitting the regular season prize among the points champion and h2h champion could be the solution.

I don't think H2H should be on the same tier as points. What I would love to see is something like the following (if it increases to $150 price point);

Best Points - $250
Best Record- $100

This still leaves $850 for the overall prizes (assuming this was an 80% payback league).

Anyone who is playing the cutline to "make a profit" is probably going to be disappointed, but rewarding even a little for both points and record (and again, I believe points should be more), makes it at least worth your time, IMO.

You know what would actually make this contest CRAZY more exciting to me? Paying out something for each cutline you survive. So just an example, no math done here what so ever:

You survive the week 10-12 cutline: Win $125
You survive the week 13 cutline: Win $250
You survive the week 14 cutline: Win $375
You survive the week 15 cutline: Win $500
Week 16 you play for the big bucks

Just something I thought of to toss out there

Retract my last post....I like this even better!

That is what all this contest is about anyways.....moving on to the next round.

Awesome idea, Jared!

The dilemma here is that if you pay every team that much in each cutline, you won't have much left for the Week 16 finalists and one of the lures of this contest is having a 1 in 12 shot at $50,000. Next year it could be $100,000. This is a survivor contest and the goal is to survive until the end.

Maybe we could continue to grow the big carrot and overall prizes and work our way back with more league and cutline level prizes once the contest gets so big, but I do think that big carrot is what is going to drive this contest to grow in the near future. It's been proven before, that's for sure.

I have like 1 good idea a decade Billy and I felt like this was 110% it. I figured it had less than 0% chance because everything is about the carrot. Wish we could have more contests that weren't all focused on the 1 in a something thousand chance. I think poker sites showed perfectly there is room for big carrot events AND other contests such was ones with high percent chance to make money or something like that. Maybe a 12 team contest where the top 4 teams triple their money, then the championship round they pay out a very well rounded top 10-20 instead of mainly top few.

I dunno, just keep banging the table for the stuff that sounds good Billy! I've been saying for many, many years the drafts need to start earlier and it started this year. Now it sounds like they are going to roll it all out (minus Prime and Classic) very early! I CANT WAIT!!! Imo it's time for earlier Prime and Classic's too. If someone starts $1600ish leagues in June or July they will be getting my money. Earlier the better in my eyes. Keep bringing the good ideas Billy, you're coming up with lots of them!

I appreciate that, Jared! I'm just expressing my opinion.....nothing more, nothing less.

This is one thing I think we disagree on. I personally would love to just see Friday and Saturday SLAM PACKED with drafts and that is it. The FFPC does that, and has the biggest numbers. This year was such a disparity of drafting before and after the Thursday game due to Peyton going nuts that I would like to see EVERYONE on the same plane for the Main events.

I just feel there are WAY too many options, and the "live draft" is fractured and has lost it's feel.

Completely agree Billy, the "live draft" has lost it's feel, I was in Vegas and the Main had two leagues, with one league having someone on the phone who didn't know how to use the mute button. It was totally distracting.

Totally understand Billy why you and plenty of other people want them all at the same time. You'll never have a better example than this year of why they should all be at the same time so if you're going to bang the table hard this is the year lol! I think I had Julius Thomas on 75%+ of my teams that drafted before the Thursday night game and 0% after! Peyton scored SOOO many points it was unreal too. That is a BIG advantage! I'm not even sure how Peyton teams aren't in first in every league. I mean he's a 50 point advantage on Brees and pretty much 100+ on every other QB! Maybe I'm just bitter since I had him on EVERY team last year =/ He threw 1 TD in weeks 14 and 15 after throwing 3 like 8 weeks in a row. I'm sure you won't be able to win the championship round without him this year as he throws 14 TDs and crushes my soul LOL!

As for me Billy, I'm just completely tired of pegging someone correctly, he's being drafted in round 4-7 and I'm getting him at will in drafts. THEN the third preseason game gets here, he drops 150 and 2 TDs and I show up at the Main's and he goes in the second round. I know drafting early involves more risk of injury but I'm more than willing to take that for the reward and I'm sure others are too. I'm dying for higher stakes leagues earlier...

I know Greg and I would LOVE to go back to the days of having one day of Main Events and that's it. From a managerial perspective it would be A LOT easier, believe me. :) Unfortunately, I'm not sure we can go back to those days. The reality is by offering more dates and times our numbers have improved so it's difficult to ignore the reality of what the numbers are telling us. Now if we saw a huge increase of signups for one or two particular days we would definitely look at what we're offering and see if things need to be adjusted. Keep in mind that just because we offer several dates and times doesn't force people to take them. There's nothing stopping people who want to play in the Primetime in Vegas, for example, from signing up for that final Saturday and taking a Classic that day or what have you. If plenty of people did that, perhaps that would make the live draft less fractured as Billy says.

I guess what I'm saying is that if there's a huge desire for one or two days only then people can sign up for those days and we'll happily accommodate you. The market place will dictate what's best in that regard. Thus far, what it's told us is that having more dates and times available is helping us considerably, especially when you factor in there are competing contests that some/many of you are also playing in.

Now if you guys want to ditch those other contests and play only with us we can most definitely have that discussion. :D
