League championship vs overall?

Post by BillyWaz » Sun Dec 08, 2013 6:43 pm

So in the overall, you carry your weekly average, but if you are playing H2H for the league you don't???

I thought it was for both, but maybe I am mistaken?

I've always thought points carries in for the overall championship only. That's how I read the rules at least (since they don't mention anything about carrying your season total to the H2H championship).

ugh....well that sucks. I think there needs to be more focus on giving the players who did it for 13 weeks more of advantage in both the H2H league matchup and championship round. When you beat someone by about 150 points from weeks 1-13 and it can be completely erased by playing a Matthew Stafford, etc. in week 14 (for the record, I don't have him.....just an example), I just think that is wrong.

I've always said the championship round needs to be 2x your average....the pricks at Fantasy Jungle didn't pay, but at least they got that part right!

Just my opinion.

I don't like that someone could be 4th or 5th in total points but manage to find themselves in a playoff for the league prize $$$ when several teams that scored more than they did on the whole season don't get a shot at any $$$

I think I value weeks 1-13 at least 50 times minimum more than everyone else in the world and I can't believe I've never caught this. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT call. +1 free DC for Billy ;) For full digression I have the "premiere QB play" (according to Rotoworld) in every league... Stafford... so I'm about 10 drinks deep and about to pledge never playing fantasy football again after Peyton's week 14/15 last year and Stafford this year. Billy... SECOND time this year I'm saying to you GREAT RULES IDEA, maybe you should start your own site man!!!

Agree with you 100% Matt.......H2H has WAY too much value. I would love to see all play or power rankings......would practically guarantee the best teams had a shot at the $$$, rather than these random H2H teams that are in the bottom half of the league in points getting in.

Problem is that it is a game operator's dream to have the "underdog" win it all. Sells more entries the following season, because ANYONE can win it all! ;)

I agree that points should matter the most. HOWEVER, if you are going to have two teams play for something that are facing each other by equal means of getting in, I think the NFFC has it right in this regard. Start from scratch is proper IMO.

Well maybe you can answer me this Billy since it gets ignored when I ask it every year. Why do we reset in fantasy football for this whole 3 week who can get hot playoff but in baseball we just play it out??? Doesn't make sense to me what so ever. We value 3 weeks in football as worth 100k but in baseball its the entire season...

your right billy on the problem of the underdog getting a chance to win. thats what keeps the sales up for greg and tom which allows us to play here which is the best game out there. you need that to keep the volume up. maybe some sort of weighted system can be a compromise. something like if you have 2nd most pts you start out 10% less than season ave. or 3erd in pts you start out 20% less and so on. these are just numbers i am throwing out and can adjusted.
THIS IS THE BUSINESS WE HAVE CHOSEN
