Chris Eibl is still in the driver's seat in the NFFC 12-Team Ultimate League, but with two straight losses his lead in the h2h battle has shrunk to one game. He can still win the h2h and total points title, but he needs a good week this week and possibly a win. Here's a look at the standings through Week 12:

Congrats to Mike Weber for winning the $2,500 prize in the NFFC 14-Team Super Auction for best h2h record. Mike has a two-game lead with one week to go as his team has been solid at 11-1. Leading the way in the total points race is Carter Harrell, who has a 49.55 point lead over Weber. Good luck all as the battle for the final playoff spots is still up in the air.

Ryan McMichael and Avi Weisfogel are tied for the lead in the NFFC 12-Team Super League with four other teams just one game behind. McMichael holds the total points lead with a comfortable 79.45 point lead over Weisfogel. Should be an interesting finish with both $2,500 regular season prizes up for grabs. Good luck all.

Congrats to Billy Wasosky for winning the $2,500 h2h prize in the NFFC New York 12-Team Super League as he holds a 2-game lead with one week left in the regular season. Frank Mammola holds a commanding lead in the points race and should have a good shot at winning that $2,500 prize. Good luck to all teams going forward.

With one week to go in the regular season for the NFFC Classic, Primetime and Online Championship, it's apparent that the top draft spots are going to fare the worst this year. Among those three national contests, only 4 teams are in the Top 20 overall. Only one team that drafted from the No. 1 spot is in the Top 20 of all three contests. It's pretty amazing and something we've never seen before in the NFFC, but those Top 4 backs have not delivered as promised.

It's interesting to look at where the top teams drafted from to see these trends. Here's a look at where the Top 20 teams drafted from in each of our national contests:

In the NFFC Classic, only two of the Top 20 teams come from the Top 4 spots and only four teams from the Top 6 spots are in the Top 20. Nobody from the Nos. 1, 4 and 6 spots made it into the Top 20 in the NFFC Classic. No. 8 leads the way with four teams in the Top 20, while No. 14 is next with three teams. Here's a look at the Top 20 teams through Week 12 in the NFFC Classic:

NFFC Classic
Draft Spot - # of Teams In Top 20
No. 1 - 0 teams
No. 2 - 1 team
No. 3 - 1 team
No. 4 - 0 teams
No. 5 - 2 teams
No. 6 - 0 teams
No. 7 - 2 teams
No. 8 - 4 teams
No. 9 - 2 teams
No. 10 - 1 team
No. 11 - 2 teams
No. 12 - 1 team
No. 13 - 1 team
No. 14 - 3 teams

Nos. 1-4: 2 teams
Nos. 5-8: 8 teams
Nos. 9-11: 5 teams
Nos. 12-14: 5 teams

Highest spot for:
No. 1 = 78th overall
No. 4 = 30th overall
No. 6 = 22nd overall

In the NFFC Primetime, only two of the Top 20 teams came from the Top 4 spots. All spots were represented in the Top 20 except No. 3 and No. 4. It's interesting that the first six teams all drafted from different spots: 9, 8, 10, 5, 6, 7. Here's a look at the Top 20 teams in the NFFC Primetime and where they drafted from:

NFFC Primetime Top 20 Teams Through Week 12:
Draft Spot - # of Teams In Top 20
No. 1 - 1 team
No. 2 - 1 team
No. 3 - 0 teams
No. 4 - 0 teams
No. 5 - 3 teams
No. 6 - 1 team
No. 7 - 3 teams
No. 8 - 4 teams
No. 9 - 3 teams
No. 10 - 2 teams
No. 11 - 1 team
No. 12 - 1 team

Nos. 1-3: 2 teams
Nos. 4-6: 4 teams
Nos. 7-9: 10 teams
Nos. 10-12: 4 teams

The highest spot for No. 3 is 41st overall.
The highest spot for No. 4 is 22.

In the Online Championship, nobody from the Top 3 spots are in the Top 20 and only 7 spots are represented in the Top 20. No. 9 has three of the top four spots and six of the Top 15 teams drafted from the 10th spot. This one is very interesting:

Rotowire Fantasy Football Online Championship
Draft Spot - # of Teams In Top 20
No. 1 - 0 teams
No. 2 - 0 teams
No. 3 - 0 teams
No. 4 - 3 teams
No. 5 - 2 teams
No. 6 - 0 teams
No. 7 - 1 team
No. 8 - 1 team
No. 9 - 4 teams
No. 10 - 6 teams
No. 11 - 0 teams
No. 12 - 2 teams

Nos. 1-3: 0 teams
Nos. 4-6: 5 teams
Nos. 7-9: 6 teams
Nos. 10-12: 9 teams

Highest finish for these draft spots are:
No. 1 = 55th overall
No. 2 = 70th overall
No. 3 = 21st overall
No. 6 = 40th overall
No. 11 - 26th overall

"get rid of 3RR" is one thought that comes to mind.

And I would argue strongly against that thought as this just happens to be an outlier year. Snake drafts are unfair in that the 1st round is more valuable than the 2nd, the 3rd round is more valuable than the 4th, the 5th round is more valuable than the 6th, and so on. Yet the same person gets the more valuable spot in all of the more valuable rounds. If someone were to run the math based on a typical year's projections and come up with a result that shows a snake draft is more fair, that person would simply be doing it wrong as the gaps in projections between the first and last pick shrink every subsequent round. Of course, those are projections and they don't work out when LeSean/Peterson/Calvin all flop.

3RR isn't as fair as an auction but at least it evens the playing field a little bit.

The only reason you're seeing the results you are this year is because people got stung worse than normal on the early picks with LeSean/Peterson/Calvin whereas there have been a number of wildly successful early 2nd rounders in Jordy/Antonio/ Murray/Cobb. Years and years of prior results suggest that this year is an aberration.

Considering that most people WANTED 1-4 as their first KDS choices this year, it doesn't seem like folks were unhappy with those early picks even with 3RR. Nos. 9 and 10 are dominating this year, but even those weren't top priorities. We'll definitely do some analysis on KDS preferences, the second round and more when the season is complete.

My thoughts are everyone had the same chance to acquire:

Golden Tate, Emmanuel Sanders, Jeremy Maclin, Mike Evans, TY Hilton, Kelvin Benjamin, Arian Foster, Justin Forsett, Le'Veon Bell, DeMarco Murray, Andrew Luck, etc.

People make picks that flop and people make picks that work. Blaming it on a draft spot is pretty lame.
