Re: Trendsetters 2015
Round #1
1.1 LeVeon Bell - rb1
1.2 Jamaal Charles - rb2
1.3 Eddie Lacy - rb3
1.4 Odell Beckham - wr1
1.5 Demarco Murray - rb4
1.6 Antonio Brown - wr2
1.7 Adrian Peterson - rb5
1.8 Rob Gronkowski - te1
1.9 Matt Forte - rb6
1.10 Julio Jones - wr3
1.11 Marshawn Lynch - rb7
1.12 Dez Bryant - wr4
1.13 Demaryius Thomas - wr5
1.14 Jordy Nelson - wr6
This is a 14 team, 30 round, DC
Any thoughts? Feel free to rip us for our indiscretions.. BTW, bold is me
At 1.6, I had Antonio and Julio targeted. Antonio may or may not score the TD's he did last year, but he will be a target monster. Julio was my #2, just because he's Julio...

Re: Trendsetters 2015
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the first round Jules.
I struggled a bit at #2 between Charles and Lacy. But I'm just not yet convinced that Lacy is a "special" runner, as much as he's just in a very good spot to be a RB. Of course, he had a great 3/4 of a season and could continue to thrive in GB's potent offense; or he could be the next coming of angry runners not named Marshawn and end up more like Marion Barber.
In the end though, I prefer reliability in early RB picks. And I concluded that Charles isn't your typical 28 YO RB because he barely has over 1500 career regular season touches, plus he had a full season of rest in 2011. Though he did diminish down the stretch last year when not 100% healthy, I think KC's WR corps can't be any worse than it was last year; so even minor improvements could open things up a bit.
Though I hadn't found this article when I made my pick, it aligns with my thinking on Charles and RB declines in general:

- "When considering RB production, though, sometimes not all ages are created equally. Backs are drafted at different ages, become starters at different points in their careers, and wear and tear will vary based on past usage."
- "Running backs have peaked in efficiency, workload, and production right around the time they reach between 2,250 and 2,500 career touches."

Re: Trendsetters 2015
Nice write-up Jules.
Reference Charles: Knile Davis looked way too good and involved for me to take Charles with one of the first few picks right now.
Does anyone worry about Bell missing any time next year due to the DUI/Dope issue? Even if he misses two games he could/should still end up as the top RB in 2015?
I think that Antonio Brown is as sure a 'hit" as there is in the first round. I would take him just about right where he went or earlier.
I was wondering where Beckham might go and Jeff got his guy! I have a feeling this trend will continue, though maybe not quite that high.
AP is a tough one to call at this point. He may just come back REAL angry and post some serious numbers. I was fool-heartedly hoping that no one wanted to take him in the first two rounds.
Fun to think back a year where everyone thought that Beastmode was going to be phased out and now he is again in the drivers seat. I wouldn't mind if Seattle moved on and my Raidahs snagged Lynch for the next year or two.
Fun draft as always.
