One thing I forgot to add is there's a lesson to be learned from Frank Gore and Ben Roethlisberger the last two weeks. And that is you play your top guys if they play. There's a reason why Gore is a top RB and Roethlisberger a top QB. Unless you're stacked at one of those positions, chances are you're depending on those guys to deliver. As we saw the last two weeks, they can deliver even when things don't always look great for one reason or another. This is a lesson that has bit me hard the last 2 weeks. I blame a lot of it on the media (I'm kidding, as it is ultimately my decision) as I get so tired of hearing "he is in such pain, it is going to be difficult for them to play effectively, they may only play a limited amount, I can't believe they are going to try and play, etc.". They said that about Knowshon Moreno before week 3, and he never saw the field (same with Ben Tate yesterday).

I guess it is all about the toughness of the player like Tom said. If filtering through the coaches BS wasn't enough, now we have to determine how severe the injury is, and how tough that player is as well.

Ben Roethlisberger (foot) was spotted limping badly during pregame warmups Sunday.

When the Steelers sprinted to midfield, Roethlisberger could barely go at half speed, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley.

My thoughts about last night's game:

Lions
Calvin Johnson is good.

Matthew Stafford is good.

Jahvid Best is faster than Brandon Meriweather.

Nate Burleson is an afterthought in this offense.

Brandon Pettigrew is not and he's quietly becoming a Must Start TE.

Bears
Horrible offensive line. Absolutely horrible.

I'm no Cutler fan but the guy can wing it and he's proving his toughness standing tall with such a horrific line trying to protect him.

Attention Bears - pay Matt Forte. Just do it already.

If you or anyone you know can play wide receiver or even make an attempt to play wide receiver, you should contact the Bears. Chances are they'll give you a tryout.

Tom,

Could not agree more about Forte. Amazing vision and anticipation... great balance... he is not dynamically fast or powerful but a great pure football player. Does everything right.

I thought Cutler played brilliant last night and he personally kept that game from being 34-3.

I am amazes Burleson gets nothing. I can just about guarantee he will have games this year where he goes 7-110 with 2 td's and his owners will be sick when he is on their bench.

[/QUOTE]Yea, I actually saw him running and he appeared VERY limited right before the game started (tape delay and after our deadline). So naturally I was feeling pretty good about my decision.....

DOH!

It definitely appears to be a case of the Jets wanting to get rid of someone they viewed as a problem and there's no denying the Texans - even with a healthy Andre - could use more help at WR. Jacoby Jones can't be trusted and Walter is more of a No. 3 or 2B at best.
