I can't believe we are drafting for the online championship in May that is absurd. These drafts should not be started until July at the earliest. Just way too much variation between now and the start of the season someone could luck themselves into several high draft picks and unexpected starters and gain a huge advantage over the rest of the field. This is just way too early. You can say "well they also can get unlucky with injuries" which is true but the guys who get unlucky lose $350 the guy who gets lucky wins $100,000.
2023 NFFC Cutline Champion and 4th place ($90,000) (1720 teams)
2014 RTS Fantasy Championship National Champion ($200,000) (2460 teams)
2012 NFFC Online National Champion and 4th place ($110,000 winner) (1872 teams)
2014 DFWC National Champion (288 teams)

...Dont post much, but I disagree about 100%. So if an early drafter foresees who is undervalued right now before the camps start and information is disseminated to the masses that is luck?

I'd call it skill . The injury part is luck, but I would argue the early draft faces far more risk of injury than a late drafter.
I'd say it takes more skill to win drafting early.......just my 2 cent opinion

Joe: Henry just wants to increase his chances of winning so he can pat himself on the back more in his signature.

Henry, we appreciate your take on this, but why is starting this contest in July less absurd than starting it in May? Do you really believe that player values will change more between May 26th and July 26th than from July 26th to Aug. 26th? I mean, aren't there more injuries and value changes between training camp and the pre-season games than during the dead months of the off-season? And if you look at the owners' in these early drafts, they are filled with seasoned veterans who know what the hell they are doing. They all have the same information on that day of the draft -- just like in late July -- and I doubt few bargains are being had. But sure, injuries can occur and a bargain can be found as a result, but that's no different in late May than it is in late July.

I'm not sure when "luck" ends, but we've all seen drafts being held in August and the next day several players are injured in a pre-season game, changing the value of several players. It happens. Every player has a value today and our owners are drafting based on those values. No different now than in July or August, before any of the real games. I guess people are just used to some contests starting in July and feel that is when every contest should begin. We don't agree and it's obvious that many of our guys are ready to draft now.

In your case, waiting until later this summer to compete for the $100,000 grand prize makes the most sense. But for those who feel those bargains can be found earlier in the off-season, May, June or even July drafts works for them. And history in our contests has shown that there really is no clear advantage to drafting early or late; everyone is competing for the same known player pool at that time.

Hope this helps.
