LOL, I believe Brady was doing personal calls on his personal phone, Hillary is accused of doing Gov't business on her personal phone. Bad analogy.

Just ask yourself, if an organization demanded your personal phone, would you give it up?
Yes of course......if I was trying to PROVE MY INNOCENCE!. The NFL is not going to hand it to TMZ.

And Brady was doing "business calls" on his as well as personal ....like Hillary

It's a perfect analogy....Destroyed server...destroyed cell phone

I still disagree with you. In this case, personal or business, it's his phone. He can do what he wants with his phone unless he's committing a crime. If he had committed a crime with his phone, the NFL could have gotten a court order to retrieve his phone. The NFL requested his phone. There was no crime committed. As for Hillary, Gov't officials are not allowed to do Gov't business on a personal phone.

BTW, Brady doesn't have to prove his innocence. Innocent until proven guilty still works for me.

Favre didn't turn over his cell phone when he was accused of sending penis pics to Jen Sterger. He was also accused by the NFL of failing to cooperate.

Sound familiar?

Favre was fined.

So sending pervy emails you equate with cheating in an NFL game?

What? The NFL is not a court of law. Innocent till proven guilty is not relevant

and by the way...OJ and Aaron Hernandez lawyers called...they want you on their juries :)

There is no direct evidence that Brady cheated. Did he personally deflate the footballs? I don't think anyone is saying that. Did he give his authorization for it to occur? Perhaps but again there is no direct evidence that he did. The NFL is saying that's because Brady destroyed his phone. Brady's agent is now saying otherwise. Again, it's he said vs. he said.

With the Favre case there was direct evidence of pictures that Favre sent. There was more direct evidence of his guilt in that case than what we see now.

But if it's football tampering you wish to discuss by all means let's do that instead. Last season, the Panthers and Vikings were caught ON CAMERA manipulating the temperature of footballs during a game. There was no question as to whether they did it because it was caught on camera during a nationally televised game.

The result?

Both teams were fined.

So you have past precedence of a player refusing to cooperate (in the league's eyes) and not turning his phone over and a precedent of clear indisputable football tampering just last season and in both cases the punishment was a fine.

To think Brady deserves four games now is absurd. I'm sorry but it just is.

And if you think he and Greg Hardy should miss the same number of games I again don't know what to say to you.

What I think Goodell should have done today is reduce the suspension to one game. That's a significant reduction so even though one game is still absurd in my opinion you could at least argue Goodell was doing his part to make this go away peacefully. That would've put the pressure entirely on Brady. At that point Brady could still maintain his innocence but say for the good of the team he'll take the suspension so this doesn't remain a distraction throughout preseason and training camp.

Problem solved and everyone moves on.

Instead ... well Goodell did what Goodell does. So now we've got a fight on our hands.

In case you missed it, unless something changes, it will soon be in a court of law. Guilt or innocence will be in play.

Here's what I'd like to see:

1• If the league wants to have suspensions for personal conduct and cheating, hammer out a deal in advance and get the player reps on board so the only thing to discuss is guilt or not.

2• Pick an arbitrator in advance that will determine guilt, then we can remove all the drama and biased/vested interests from making decisions.

3• If I turn on Sirius to hear football talk I have zero interest in hearing debates about Brady, Rice, Vick or Aaron Hernandez. Put that stuff on the gossip channel and get back to talking about football. ;)
