This is true Russ but in the interest of full disclosure, they did hold back in filling the WR position until round 13. The blocking strategy may have been in effect though as they did nail some half dozen hand cuff RB's (none their own) by the end of round 11...
As Billy said, if one can tune out the 'noise' you can field a pretty solid team. Maybe they just wanted to get into everyone's head as I will say they most certainly threw the draft rythem off...lol. The problem with this is that unless you were drafting right beside them, you couldn't take advantage of the idiocy!

You in Vegas in 2006, Fandango puking and passing out in round 18 of a 30 round baseball in NYC...
Trust me, Chicago was STACKED this year. I would put Chicago 3 Classic against ANY other league out there. VERY tough!
These guys just make it one less team to worry about, but I bet you can say that about EVERY league in EVERY city.
Some just aren't as loud and obnoxious.

Thing is I stuck up for them at first when the guy drafting beside them moved to the other side of the table for the entire draft because they were so loud. But after 4+ hours of it in 2 drafts it gets a little ridiculous. And these guys were not college aged kids, they had to be in their 30's to respond to the earlier post. I go to have a good time just like everyone else but when those running the draft cannot even hear who was picked yet do nothing about the noise it becomes pretty damn annoying.

The fanball crew in Chicago were terrible! I happened to be in the league with the loudest, most annoying group of drafters in both drafts. Fanball was notified of the issues with these guys but they did not address them. They actually encouraged the juvenile behavior by video taping them. I know that we are all there to have a good time but when things get out of hand they need to step in and say something. I know that this would not have been a problem in past events because Greg and the crew at F&W would taken action to stop a few from ruining the draft for many. A good time was not had by all. Let me just say that when anyone had a bad experience at one of our drafts I take it personally and will look into the reasons behind it. I've heard from enough people in Chicago now to realize that Chris and his buddies were out of control and should have been told to settle down. If alcohol had a hand in their enthusiasm then we'll also look at that. I don't think we created the chaos from the start as Chris didn't even get to the draft on time and I promise I will address all of this one-on-one with this team.
There are a lot of veterans in Chicago who have supported us for six straight years and at no time did I ever expect any complaints like the ones I've gotten in the last two days. I've talked with our guys in Chicago and while it's correct that we could have cracked the whip on them earlier, again, the bottom line is that adults should act like adults among adults. We all like a little smack talk, but enough is enough and again I'll address this with that team in Chicago.
I won't stand for that going forward but I also won't overreact at this point. Brent, George, Pat and everyone else who left those two leagues with a bad experience, I apologize to you and promise that we'll have a protocol in place in the future where one team will NEVER spoil the entire experience again.
Chris has won two straight NFFC league titles and is a solid competitor. I'm not quite sure why Draft Day turned into frat day, but again, I'm on this one personally and will resolve it going forward even though we can't replace what happened last weekend. Sorry to anyone who struggled to concentrate in those leagues.

I just want to say that I also heard a lot of good comments about our guys working in Chicago and I think they were put in a tough spot by Chris's team. They certainly didn't want to ruin a relationship they felt the NFFC had with a loyal customer, but at the same time going forward we all know that nobody will be allowed to be that loud again. We sent plenty of people to Chicago to videotape the proceedings there and to interview many of our top players and bring some credibility and visibility to our Windy City location. If they became even more arrogant once the cameras rolled, that's a shame. We don't need that on any promotional tape going forward.
Again, I'm proud of the way our guys worked hard in Chicago and ran everything. Heck, our auctioneer failed to show (an NFFC vet) and Seth stepped in and did a great job. They made quick, critical decisions all weekend long and nobody will know how many times owners put them in tough spots. So I'm disappointed to hear that anyone felt the guys did a bad job when one team made that perception for them.
I wish someone big would have taken this situation by the horns and roped them down into their chairs. Again, sorry all, but it won't happen again.

You know, Big Mike (Mike Ferre) was drafting right next to us. Had I thought about it, I should have told him that those guys said something derogative about Brett Favre.
That might have worked.
Problem is, Mike is one of the nicest guys I know. Now if we could of got Bubba (Darryl) pissed off....
