Two games in a row Sims-W consistently gets open while Garrard forces it to guys who aren't open. I think I'm done with Garrard too.

Sorry if it affected your fantasy team but if you got treated to 20 min of Painter, Brown and Baskett instead of Manning, Addai and Wayne and you are a Colts fan you probably didn't mind. Only fantasy football players cared. Painter was fighting for his life, but the OL didn't seem too concerned.

Do a little reading today about Indy fans calling in to radio stations - it wasn't just fantasy players. I think 90% of the Colts fan base was p***** off - and even more of those who attended.

Ditka and some other former players had some nice comments too. Ditka said "if I would've tried to bench Jim McMahon or Walter Payton under those circumstances there probably would've been a fistfight to get them outta there".

Here's food for thought:

Let's say it's Week 17, and Team A (who is tied for worst record in the NFL) is out of the playoff race and is playing Team B who needs to win to make the playoffs.

Now, what if Team A pulls it's starters in the 3rd quarter while leading, knowing that it would probably cost them the game (especially after they lose the lead), but also knowing that handing Team B a win gives them the #1 pick in the draft.

Couldn't the Head Coach and management say that this move was in the best interest of the team and the organization? Couldn't they say that "all will be forgiven" once they get that #1 pick? Couldn't they say that winning a football game that people paid good money to see "was never our priority"? Couldn't they say that obtaining the #1 pick supercedes the expectations of players, fans, other potential playoff teams, and the NFL that their team will do it's best to win a game? Is that fraudulent or "doing what's best for the team"?

What the Colts did is no less damaging to the game of football than the above example, IMO.

Completely agree Shrink.

When a corporate strategy mentality supercedes the concept that each game is a sporting event/competition, you're in dangerous territory with respect to the history and meaning of the league.

Such mentality taints many aspects of modern life. I think it's one reason people flock to sporting events - there is purity and simplicity, at least on the surface.

My distaste after watching that game had nothing to do with any fantasy impact or interest in the Colts or the teams they may have impacted. Sportsmanship was tossed aside for some theoretical "it's best for me" rationale. Uggggh.

I hope this reaction from fans is heard loud and clear by pro sports teams.

Here's a funny tid bit. After all that we're still up 4 with 22 seconds to go in the Chi/Minny game. Playing against Forte and S.Rice....you know how thw story ends.

Oh well...congrats to RY's on a well deserved victory. I'll have to try harder next time.

Bill Polian is a great personnel man but sucks as a football man. Don't remember Buffalo winning a Super Bowl with him at the helm and he can only count on Manning carrying him so far with his lame strategy. Shots at history don't come often but I don't remember Belichek taking his foot off the petal and came within seconds of a perfect season. Had nothing to do with worthless injuries in non-factor weeks at the end of the season. The Colts of all teams would have loved to push the Patriots to the back seat had they been allowed to go for it and succeeded. Interesting how GM's and coaches care about injuries at the end of the season but expect players to play through them the first 14 weeks.

Fact is, the Indy offense has sucked lately and Sunday showed me a rematch with the Jets may end up with the same result, a loss. Time to get the offense fine-tuned, not rest. The same goes for my Saints.

By the way Mr. Cowboy, EDDIEJAG, my Saints and all of WHODAT Nation are dying for a rematch. Don't expect Tony to stay as upright as he did Week 15.

Week 12 - 28 offensive points, Manning 3 tds, 2 ints, Defense ranked #13, #18 against the pass.
Week 13 - 27 offensive points, Manning 1 td, Defense ranked #28, #31 against the pass.
Week 14 - 28 offensive points, Manning 4 tds, 3 ints, Defense ranked #7, #3 agains the pass.
Week 15 - 28 offensive points, Manning 4 tds, 1 int, Defense ranked #23, #31 against the pass.

It's all in your perception, Wayne. Week 15 was an average performance considering Jax's defensive rankings but the previous 3 weeks, Manning did not look sharp against the sh*t secondarys of Houston and Tennessee and he struggled against a good one in Denver. You will also have to admit he wasn't looking all that good against the Jets in the first half of Week 16 (missed a wide open Wayne for 6). Would make for some real irony if Week 19 has the Jets back in Indy.

I've always been a Colts fan from my childhood growing up in Baltimore although I have never wished anything well for the Irsays. But just for MB banter, I was wondering how the Colt fans felt about Bill Polian after watching Peyton Manning and co. play and stand in a blizzard in Buffalo today. For Bill Polian, and he is the decision maker here, to pull them in Week 16 for their well-being only to have them play on the frozen tundra of Buffalo in the worst of field and weather conditions Week 17 is the pinnacle of stupidity to me. Why Manning, Wayne, Clark, Addai, Freeney, etc. were outside of Indiana today is beyond me.
