Chip Kelly - Loser

Post by KenGill » Mon Dec 21, 2015 5:00 am

As the Eagles got embarrassed again last night on national TV, let me start out by saying that although I live in the Philly region, I'm not a fan of the team. But for fantasy purposes I have watched some of their games. I thought when he got to Philly he was an innovative, out of the box coach. But I think we can all come to the conclusion, this guy doesn't know what he's doing. Let's look at Kelly's major moves since being coach.

Traded Nick Foles for Sam Bradford: This one he got right. Bradford is more than capable of leading an NFL offense given time to throw and given weapons to throw to. Foles has done nothing this season.

Traded Shady McCoy to Buffalo for Kiko Alonzo: I don't care what kind of a knucklehead McCoy is, this kind of production can't be replaced. Disaster.

Signed Demarco Murray. Disaster.

Signed Ryan Matthews. Might have been a good move if you had only signed him instead of Murray.

Allowed Jeremy Maclin to go to KC: Disaster.

Cut Desean Jackson: another knucklehead (see above, McCoy). Disaster. Jackson continuing to play well in Washington while the Eagles 2nd receiver who replaced him has done nothing.

Chip..... it's been nice knowing you.

Time to clean house in Philly.

Another wretched performance by the Eagles in another national TV game.
Chip Kelly should be fired as soon as the last play of next week's game is over.

On a positive -- looks like the Redskins have themselves a QB for the next 5 years.

If only I could pick fantasy players the way I can pick coaches to be fired. :)

Anyone besides me have any thoughts on the firing of Chip Kelly?

I think Chip can be a good NFL head coach. He has no business being a GM and that's where it all went wrong in Philly. Put Shady, DJax and Maclin back on that team and the Eagles are clearly the best team in the NFC East. Unfortunately for Chip, his ego and thirst for power got the better of him. If he had just stuck to being the head coach he probably still has a job in Philly today.

Bad personnel moves for his system. Specifically Murray. If he really signed Murray just to keep him away from the Cowboys, then that was the one idiotic move that cost him his job. If he signed two defensive players for that money or maybe one and another WR, then they would likely be in the playoffs. He is a good coach that should stay away from making personell moves. Tennessee might be a good landing spot with Mariotta.

The one consistent thing with Chip in Philly was his starting QBs all became QB1 options at some point. Foles, Sanchez and Bradford. Even Vick had his moments. If he goes to San Francisco can he resurrect Colin Kaepernick and turn him into a QB1 again?
