Good luck next week. I actually like the 49ers, because their focus on defense contrasts with the other power teams in the NFC.

Being at home was big for them. The task gets much harder if they travel to Green Bay.

Maybe you can find the time to post a prediction before that game?

Houston +7.5 @ Baltimore O/U: 36

This one is tough, because I'm confident Baltimore will win, but by how much? The teams match up well so I think the score stays within a TD much of the game.

But Baltimore is home, they're more experienced, and T.J. Yates is still a rookie. Ray Lewis is monster, but Flacco is a cream pastry so they cancel each other out. It's hard for me to imagine them on a practice field together.

I'm thinking Baltimore pulls away late 24-16, barely covering the spread.

I hate these low Over/Under lines pitting two good defenses. One pick-6 or Special Teams TD throws it all into a lottery bin. Staying away from it.

NY Giants +7.5 @ Green Bay O/U: 53

This is the hardest game of the weekend to pick. Which Eli is going to show up? Is he going to hit the big plays or isn't he? There's your answer for both the spread and the Over/Under.

The Giants play the Packers tough, plus they have the better defense. Giants have a better rushing attack at this point, too. Keeping Rodgers off the field with some ball control is critical, since getting into a shootout with this elite QB is never a good idea. But Green Bay at home...you hate to bet against that.

Sounds like a lot of hedging, doesn't it? The Pack will win, but the lines are spot on, making the bets on this game practically a coin flip.

My very soft prediction is Green Bay winning 30-24. That means take Giants 7.5 and the Over...unless you have a weak heart than I suggest keeping your wallet in your pocket.

Will I bet it? If I win the Baltimore-Houston bet, then I'll try and double up on this game before kickoff. If I'm already a loser (gee, has that ever happened before? :rolleyes: ), I'll grab another scotch and just enjoy the game.

WOW, what an incredible game that was yesterday. Saints-Niners I mean, not Tebow Time. Alex Smith really came up big and so did Vernon Davis. I never saw that offensive power coming. But give that entire franchise credit. That defense is POWERFUL and their special teams is DOWNRIGHT SICK. Very, very disciplined all around and Harbaugh has them believing they can beat anyone. Very scary combination.

I never saw the Niners win coming. I knew they'd play them tough, but I see a trend in the NFL playoffs this year: Wins at home. I think that trend will hold true today, too.

That Ravens' defense will totally rattle the young QB. I think the Ravens will handle the run well enough to win. I think Baltimore wins easily.

Forecast for Lambeau is 28 and partly sunny. It was cold yesterday and was 3 degrees last night, but 8-18 mph southerly winds are here now and it's warming up fast. Should be 28 by kickoff and even stay in the 20s tonight. Tomorrow will be a high of 35, so no deep freeze tonight. And 8-18 mph winds really won't be much of a factor in that bowl. Expect both teams to be able to do what they want offensively.

I see the media is all over the Giants, which is good for the Packers. They are healthy and well rested. Yes, their defense is not good this year, but offensively I think they should be able to strike early and often. Rodgers has to hit a lot of quick passes to keep that pass rush at bay. He won't have 4-5 seconds to pass. Quick is the key.

I've gotta get ready for the big game and head to Lambeau Field in a few hours. Cocktail hour is at noon for the 3:30 game. Wish us look and best of luck to all Giants, Ravens and Texans fans. This time of year is what we all live for; I know I do!! Should be another fun football day.

I'm not good at predictions and I have waaaaaaaaaaay too much bias towards the Packers to put actual money on them. I already have enough invested in them emotionally. I do believe the Packers will be able to handle the Giants' defense, but I also think the Giants will score against us. The money has been on the Giants since the spread has gone from 10 to 7.5. Take that for what it's worth.

I'd take the over and Packers, but that's just me. Don't quote me on that.
