Re: FSTA Experts Draft Monday Night - Greg & Tom 2nd Pick
Tom repeat after me...... I will not be forced into taking a RB early. I will not be forced into taking a RB early. I will not be forced into taking a RB early. I will not be forced into taking a RB early. I am a confident, handsome man and I will do what I please
Nelson, I won't take a crappy RB we don't want. However, if there's a RB we like we will take one. Contrary to popular opinion there are some RBs worthy of being taken in the early rounds this year. It's no true. No really it is. Honest.
Other than L. Miller (And I already know how you feel about him lol) I don't see any other back worth drafting at 2/3 turn. I bet Lacy will be drafted before you guys pick

Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is.

There are 3 RBs I think are worthy options who could be on the board for us in Round 3 if we decide to go that way. I'm not going to name them since you never know who might be lurking. Miller's ADP in the NFFC is 21 and I expect him to be long gone by the time it gets to us at pick 27 in the second round. However, there are also several WRs I like as well. All depends who's on the board.

So far this group is doing just as I anticipated - chasing RBs early. Four of the first nine picks have been RBs. You sometimes don't see 4 RBs taken in the first round of an NFFC draft.

First 3 picks:
1. Julio
2. Cobb
3. Hilton
You guys happy? Did we make the NFFC proud?

Our team so far:
1. Julio Jones
2. Randall Cobb
3. TY Hilton
4. Greg Olsen
5. Dion Lewis
I'm feeling real good about this, especially for a 14-teamer.

It's on the radio on Sirius so that plays into the slowness of the picks. Guys are being interviewed when they pick. The pace will begin to pick up soon.Sabretooth wrote:Good start...I'm following the draft, those guys sure do pick slow!

Team so far:
1. Julio
2. Cobb
3. Hilton
4. Olsen
5. Lewis
6. Snead
7. Brees
We weren't crazy about the Brees pick but there just wasn't a RB2 left on the board we really wanted so rather than reaching for someone just to get a RB we decided to take an elite player. That was the drawback of going with the WR-WR-WR start, especially with a RB-crazed group like this one in a 14-team format. We'll see how that decision plays itself out.
ETA - I really wanted Lockett in the sixth round. Seriously bummed he didn't fall to us there. If he had I would consider this a damn near perfect draft.
