Wayne Ellis will return to the 2-time champion Midwest team and compete in the 3-City Draft Champions League again. I will reach out to Scott Atkins and Chad Schroeder to see if they are returning so that we can finalize this one. All is looking good. Thanks all.

Here's the current signup list with Chris Gillman in to replace KJ and Mike Sanda on reserve if anyone can't make it.

NFFC 3-City Draft Champions League
$150 per team, DC League Prizes and part of DC National Championship with $20,000 grand prize
Thursday, Aug. 4th, 9 pm ET
1. Matthew Shepherd (W)
2. Mike Santos (W)
3. Joe Conte (W)
4. Bill Cleavenger (M)
5. Michael Edelman (E)
6. Brian Steimetz (M)
7. Billy Wasosky (E)
8. Chris Vaccaro (E)
9. Wayne Ellis (M)
10. Chris Gillman (?)

Thanks all and good luck.

Chad won't be returning to the league so Mike Sanda is in for the East team and Chris Gillman gets a spot with the Midwest squad. That leaves us with one spot left.

The last two years, the winning team has received a free OC entry. Is that not going to happen this year?

Nope. Since this league is part of the Draft Champions contest there are is additional compensation.

Looks like the team aspect has gone away. You promoted it, we played, now it's just another DC.. :(

Bill, the first year we ran this it was a Draft Champions Live at $1000 per team and we gave away $350 to each of the team champions. But last year you guys said that $1000 was too high and so we went with a $150 price point and bragging rights for the team champs. We'd love to reward the team champs but there's little wiggle room at this price point, certainly above giving away $1400 in additional prizes. Hopefully that makes sense.

If anyone wants to change the format or scrap it let me know. It's still a fun format with a team concept, but you are right this is really another DC in the national contest.

Fair enough, thanks for the explanation. Since the team concept is a non factor and my August schedule is filling, I'm going to withdraw from this league.

Just a thought, and I don't know if it'd be enough to hold everyone's interest, but... instead of part of the entry fees going toward the Overall DC, could that portion just go toward team prizes (along with the normal top-3 DC league prizes)? Treat this league as another private one, like Trendsetters, Billy's and mine?

For example, standard $150 DCs pay 3 league prizes: 1st $800, 2nd $300, 3rd $100.
Mine pays 1st $1000, 2nd $500, 3rd $250.

So I assume the difference of $550 (200+200+150) is what normally goes toward the Overall prize? Can that just be divided up among the 4 players of the winning regional team?
