Just how tough is the 14 team NFFC???

Post by BillyWaz » Tue Dec 02, 2008 3:39 pm

Well, we just completed the FIFTH regular season, and the 100K curse continues. :(

Last year's 100K champ (Go Gettas) did not make it to the championship round, and all four 100K winners STILL have not been back to the championship round after being crowned the champ!!!

I think that just proves how CHALLENGING the 14 team format is for people.

I personally love the 14 teamer, and I think it goes without saying that ANY of us would take the 100K to not make it back there.

Good luck to all those that made the championship round!! :D

If I win the 100k I would be very happy to accept the curse and hope it doesn't affect other leagues :D

I would like to say something about this "100k Curse". How many of those other 100k winners were thrown into a league as competitive as ours this year?

Honestly, it was amazing that we hung in there as long as we did with SJax, Bush and Plaxico on our team. We were in it until the end of Week 12.

In all honesty Ryan, I am betting the other 100K winners could have similar stories. Kinda like winning the Super Bowl, you get an "NFFC Championship hangover". Things don't come as easy the next year for whatever reason... tougher schedule (league), things don't break right (injuries), tough to get back, etc.

Billy wasn't pointing You out or picking on You. The point is other than Billy who makes the Championship round more than not? More so the overall Champ has not made it back the next year, that's just a Fact.
It was my most rewarding of all my League's that I won in FF in any Year , I'm sure that answered Your question Billy. :D

[/QUOTE]Mike,

My points against was rather pathetic, but it wasn't like I was 9th in points or something. I was (barely) 2nd, so I would be there anyway.

The schedule just didn't make me sweat the final 2-3 weeks! ;) Honestly Mike, this league was BY FAR the toughest 14 team Main Event league I have ever played in, as there were so many great owners I'm proud to be in the position I'm in.

Thanks for the kudos, and good luck to you in the consolation round as your team was seriously coming on in the end. :D

P.S. Not having Winslow for the consolation round is probably a GOOD thing, as he is simply a big tease this year! ;)

Billy,

Congrats... I agree with you about the 14 teamer. It is by far my favorite format. I had a weird year and ended in a 4 way tie for first in H2H (first time ever I was lucky in H2H) but my total points was pedestrian and I will be in the consolation round.

Best of luck to you in the chase for the 100K! I hope to take down the other 100K and we will meet for the photo shoot...lol
