I still cry everytime I watch "Brian's Song" about Brian Piccolo's life. We mourn his loss but look ahead to a return to Chicago to start the 2019 NFL season. NOW ONLY 41 DAYS LEFT.

Appropriately, we follow Brian Piccolo with Gale Sayers, the Kansas Comet, who was one of the most exciting runners in NFL history. Unfortunately, an ACL injury shortened his career with the Chicago Bears, but we'll return to Chicago in 40 days for the start of the 2019 NFL season.

Larry Csonka is the only NFL Hall of Famer who wore a shoehorn on his helmet to protect his broken nose, something he suffered while ramming through NFL defenses for more than a decade. Did you know that there's not a single No. 38 jersey retired in the NFL? Seriously. The best player who wore No. 38 in the NFL was Hall of Fame QB Arner Herber, who played 13 seasons in the NFL, including 11 with the Green Bay Packers. Herber teamed up with Don Hutson to form the first great receiving combo in the NFL, while leading the Packers to four NFL titles. IN 2005, Shaun Alexander rushed 370 yards for 1,880 yards and 27 touchdowns, his fifth straight 1,000-yard season. The Seahawks rode Alexander to the Super Bowl and likely overused him. That being said, that's a STUD back right there. With all of us looking for another Shaun Alexander in 2019, we announce that there are now ONLY 37 DAYS UNTIL THE 2019 NFL SEASON OPENER IN CHICAGO.

Jerome Bettis -- The Bus -- sure could fill out an NFL jersey, couldn't he? He also could punish opposing defenses as he led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a Super Bowl title. He's the perfect person to announce: NOW ONLY 36 DAYS UNTIL THE 2019 NFL SEASON OPENER IN CHICAGO!!

The Nigerian Nightmare -- Christian Okoye -- was a top fantasy pick back in 1990 after he led the NFL in rushing with 370 carries for 1,480 yards and 12 TDs. They paid Okoye to RUN THE BALL as he had a total of two receptions that year!!! He never approached those numbers again, but that doesn't stop us from honoring his number and announcing that there are ONLY 35 DAYS LEFT UNTIL THE 2019 NFL SEASON OPENER IN CHICAGO!!!

He was called Sweetness for a reason, and one of them was because of how sweet this man ran with the football. Certainly one of the greatest of all-time, Walter Payton retired with the NFL rushing record and 1 Super Bowl ring.
