NFFC Rules & Contest Changes For 2021 Season

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:59 am

Every year is a new year in the NFFC and changes come along with each new season. So I thought it would make sense to have one thread on the Message Boards that we can post with all of the rules and contest changes for the upcoming season. With so many of you just finding the NFFC boards again with the NFL Draft upcoming, I thought I'd post this now. Enjoy.

Here's the rules and contest changes for 2021:

1) We are now allowing anyone who wins a Rotowire Online Championship league title to claim the $1,500 league prize OR use that for a 2022 NFFC Primetime or Classic entry. At the end of the season on the Claim Prizes page, you will be able to ask for a cash payment or use that money for a 2022 entry, saving $200 on that entry.

2) The NFFC Cutline Championship now has a $175 entry fee, but we are paying the Top 2 teams in each league for the first time, including $350 to each league champion. Now you can double your money by winning your 10-team Cutline league AND still win $100,000.

3) The NFFC Classic returns with a $50,000 grand prize. Last year there were no overall prizes because of Covid as we finished with only 6 leagues. Prizes this year are based on 17 full leagues.

4) The NFL will be moving to a 17-game, 18-week season in 2021. We have decided to have a 14-week regular season and 3 weeks of the Championship Round for all private leagues and national contests. Draft Champions leagues will score points through Week 17. For 12-team leagues, we'll have All Play in Weeks 1, 8 and 14. In 14-team leagues, we'll have All Play in Week 14.

5) Team Kicker will be used for all NFFC games. It frees up one roster spot per week and guarantees everyone a potential points total each week from the position.

6) The Wednesday and Saturday FAAB deadlines will be at 10 pm ET in 2021. We will have a FAAB deadline before Week 1 and through Week 14. There will be no FAAB for the Championship Round in national contests.

7) We will allow fourth place prize money in private high-dollar leagues rather than Consolation Round prize money where requested. We will manage this league-by-league, but original rules for each contest will show a Consolation Round for playoffs.

8) There will be no change in roster spots or the 20-man roster. No changes in scoring. We will be adding a separate Super Flex private contest soon, so look for details on those leagues shortly. There are no plans for a Super Flex national contest this year, but I'm interested in feedback on a national contest with a reasonable entry fee and guaranteed prize pool for 2022.

Good luck all in 2021 and enjoy.

While I'm a little disappointed there won't be a SuperFlex national contest this year, I am happy you are adding some SuperFlex private leagues. I hope they take off and you fill enough to consider adding a SuperFlex national contest in 2022. I look forward to seeing the details on your offerings.
