Chris Johnson-Greatest Fantasy Score Ever?

Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Sep 21, 2009 4:57 am

My main league is PPR and we get 12 points for every TD of 50 yards or longer. Light Blue Jesus put up 61 points yesterday - shattering my league's single-game scoring record.

I cannot begin to find the words to describe how much I love this guy.

Jerry Rice vs. Atlanta in 1990 - 13 receptions, 225 yards, 5 TDs = 65.5 NFFC points.

Also notable:
Kellen Winslow (the real one) in 1981 - 13 receptions, 144 yards, 5 TDs = 57.4 NFFC points

Clinton Portis in 2003 - 218 rush yards, 5 TDs, 2 receptions, 39 yards = 56.4 points

Shaun Alexander in 2002 - 139 rush yards, 4 rush TDs, 3 receptions, 92 yards, 1 TD = 54.6 points

And going back a little further - Gale Sayers in 1965 - 113 rush yards, 4 rush TDs, 2 receptions, 89 yards, 1 TD = 51.2 points (and no NFFC credit for a punt return TD)

Steve Largent nearly had the greatest game in fantasy history, but it would have come with a big-time asterisk. That's probably why he pulled himself out of the 3rd replacement game during the strike-shortened 1987 season (Largent crossed the picket line and played with the "scabs"). Check out his numbers...THROUGH TWO AND A HALF QUARTERS:

10/18/1987
Steve Largent
15 catches, 261 yards, 3 TDs
59.1 NFFC points

Loved him "back in the day".
