SOLD OUT: Mike "The Miz" Sack Cancer: 9/4, 8:05 pm ET

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Aug 01, 2024 9:34 am

It's hard to believe, but this is the 5th year that we will be offering the NFFC Primetime Sack Cancer leagues to raise funds for the V Foundation. We have raised over $50,000 since 2020 and we hope to raise even more money this year.

We are working with the V Foundation and the WWE to promote this great cause. Thanks to actor James Roday Rodriguez, we have recruited five super-heroes who are going to donate all of the prize money they win to Connor's Cure, the pediatric cancer research arm of the V Foundation. James will even donate $1,000 to Connor's Cure for every team that finishes ahead of him in his Primetime league standings.

Let me just say that James has donated a LOT of money that way, but this year he's going ALL IN to win the $250,000 grand prize. He will be joined by WWE champion and legend Mike "The Miz", industry insider Michael Fabiano of Sports Illustrated, Jerry Cantrell of Alice & Chains and actor Tom Everett Scott. Fabs won his Primetime league title in 2021 and donated that $7,000 prize to the V Foundation, while Jerry Cantrell finished 2nd in his Primetime league last year and donated $3,400 to the V Foundation.

So we have a history of winning some money for Connor's Cure, and last year a lot of people donated $100 or more each to compete in these leagues. James also gave a nice speech about how he and I decided to come up with the Sack Cancer format and why we decided to donate money to Connor's Cure. You can hear that speech here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMVUZrD5oTo&t=14s

This is the second straight year that Jerry Cantrell and Tom Everett Scott (from the movie That Thing You Do, among other credits) will be playing in the Sack Cancer leagues. James and Thomas will compete Live in Las Vegas at Park MGM on Saturday, September 7th at 10 am PT, the second straight year they will be with us Live in Las Vegas.

Fabs will be drafting his NFFC Primetime Online league on Monday, September 2nd at 5 pm ET.

We don't have the NFFC Primetime Sack Cancer League dates just yet for "The Miz" and Jerry, but we'll post those once we have them. Mike is out promoting Summer Slam and is on every talk show available right now, but he will look at his schedule when he gets back home and pick an Online Primetime League likely just before the opening games on September 8th.

If you want to compete in their leagues, we ask that you make a small donation (any denomination will do) to the Sack Cancer fund. And if you happen to beat up on our celebrities in these leagues, maybe you can make an even bigger donation from those league winnings. Thanks because every bit helps.

Here's the link to our Primetime Sack Cancer Leagues and the Donate link is now live. The guys are working on new promotional videos and we'll upload those to the site and to Twitter and Instagram soon. It's all for a good cause and yet this is part of the NFFC Primetime overall competition as well.

Enjoy and help us out if you can. Thanks. Okay, see you in the draft room soon!! :D

Re: NFFC Sack Cancer Primetime Leagues Return In 2024

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Aug 01, 2024 9:37 am

We will have 60 teams competing in the NFFC Primetime Sack Cancer leagues this year, consisting of five leagues. I have been in contact with the V Foundation and the WWE and once again the WWE is stepping up to spice up these leagues.

For the second straight year, the WWE will give 4 tickets to any Raw or Smackdown event to the team in the Sack Cancer leagues who finishes the regular season (Week 14) with the most points. Last year, Matt Shepherd had the High Points team in the NFFC Sack Cancer leagues and he won four free tickets to a WWE event in San Francisco. I believe he gave the tickets to his nephews, who had a great time there.

We will give four free tickets to this year's High Points leader among the five Sack Cancer leagues after Week 14.

It's that easy. Join a Sack Cancer league, donate to the V Foundation, finish with the most points among all Sack Cancer teams through Week 14 and take you and your friends to any Raw or Smackdown event. It's really that easy. Thanks all and thanks to the WWE for this great donation.

Again, I just want to post the video of James in Las Vegas because he tells the story of how these Sack Cancer Primetime leagues originated and he explains who Connor was:

Maybe I'll make him give another speech this year!!!

Okay, after being on the road for the last month promoting Summer Slam in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, WWE champion Mike "The Miz" is settled in at home and working on his Cheat Sheets. The Miz loves fantasy football almost as much as he loves wrestling!!

This is the fifth straight year that Mike "The Miz" has been drafting in the NFFC Primetime and he's doing it once again for a great cause. Any prize money that Mike wins he will donate to Connor's Cure of the V Foundation. The pediatric research division holds a special place in Mike's heart as he knew Connor before he passed away from cancer and this foundation is doing a lot of great work in the search for a cure. Mike wants to win the $250,000 grand prize so badly and he knows it would be AWESOME if he donated that check to Connor's Cure.

Anyway, Mike has picked Wednesday, September 4th at 8:05 pm ET for his Sack Cancer Primetime Online league. We ask everyone who enters his league to make a small donation to Connor's Cure and if you win money from this league maybe you can make another donation after the season. Thanks.

Okay, our 4th NFFC Primetime Sack Cancer League is set with Sports Illustrated's Michael Fabiano and it's set for Monday, September 2nd at 5 pm ET. Michael spent 16 year on the NFL Network and has been in our Sack Cancer leagues for three years, earning $3,400 in 2022 and donating that to Connor's Cure.

He had a great team last year, but made a rookie mistake when he got low on FAAB and had quarterback problems down the stretch. He's convinced that he won't make the same mistake again and can take down the $250,000 grand prize for Connor's Cure and the V Foundation. Can he do it?

He's coming off rotator cuff surgery and so he's on the IR right now, but he should be better in three weeks. Come and teach this guy a lesson, but first make a donation to Connor's Cure and then promise to donate some of your winnings to the cause as well. Then sign up for this league here:

The Miz and Michael Fabiano have updated their smack talk videos on our site and you can find them here:

Waiting on James Roday to send in his new video. He's apparently busy filming some new movie or TV show, but he promises to get to it this weekend. I'll post when that one is updated. Enjoy all.
