As we enter Week 11 in the NFFC, let's remind everyone that we have another great contest right around the corner. The sixth annual NFFC Thanksgiving Day Bonanza is on Registration right now and it's boasting a $7,500 grand prize. This is the second straight year that we have offered a $7,500 grand prize and we'll also pay the Top 31 finalists a cash prize this year as prizes are based on 500 teams.
There are three NFL games on Thanksgiving Day, so we've decided to create a one-day contest where owners can pick any player from those six teams and compete in an overall championship with great prizes. We've done this the last five years and last year we sold out this contest with 517 teams. This year prizes are based on 500 teams and we'll max out this contest at 600 teams.
Kenny Gagne of Acushnet, Massachusetts won the 2023 NFFC Turkey Day Bonanza and the $7,500 grand prize in a very tight contest. Kenny edged Nicholas Meens by 2.3 points for the grand prize. The year before, Randy Mechels won the grand prize by two-tenths of a point and in 2022 William Hare won this contest by one-tenth of a point, so you can see just how tight this one-day contest can be. EVERY POINT matters in this contest.
We will pay the Top 31 teams in the overall contest, so grab one or more teams and make those player combinations work. Are you ready for the challenge?
This 1-day Championship features players in the three Thanksgiving Day games using NFFC scoring to determine the best team. You select the 10 starters to fill up your lineup on your own without a salary cap. Just pick your 10 best starters -- with a minimum of ONE PLAYER PER TEAM -- and watch the points add up like your weight after turkey, apple pie and stuffing!!!
We are limiting owners to a max of 15 teams and we are basing prizes on 500 teams. Cost of entry is $100 and we'll pay the Top 31 finishers. Lineups will lock before the kickoff of the first game on Thanksgiving, so lock in all 10 players before the Lions-Bears kickoff. That's important to know and then sit back and watch a full day of football. This should be a lot of fun.
