Phil Glukhovsky Headlines 2025 CLQ Championship Field

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:24 am

We debuted a new concept this year called the NFFC Champions League Qualifier Championship. The CLQ Championship was a sidepot challenge where every owner added $250 and used the scores from three existing teams that they owned. Each CLQ participant used one NFFC Primetime entry, one Rotowire Online Championship entry and one NFFC $150 Best Ball entry and totaled the scores from all three teams over 17 weeks.

The Top 12 teams will now advance to a special CLQ Championship League in 2025 and play for the entire $12,250 sidepot. We had 49 owners put in $250 each, so the pot is $12,250. First place will earn $6,125, second place will earn $3,062.50, third place will earn $1,837.50 and fourth place will earn $1,225. Not bad for competing in a league with no entry fee in 2025.

Since this is a mix of Live and Online drafters, we will create this CLQ Championship as an Online league in 2025, with the date to still be determined. It will likely be during the week before our Las Vegas Live Events, maybe even the Monday or Tuesday before then. Let me reach out to the 12 participants to see what day works best and we'll finalize everything in plenty of time for people to clear their schedules.

This CLQ Championship will be set up like an NFFC Primetime league where we'll compete for 14 weeks and then send four teams to the Championship Round. We won't pay for the regular season best h2h record or most points, but those four teams will all advance then to the Championship Round where all four will receive prize money. It will be a fun tournament with 100 percent of the sidepot being paid out.

We'll do a better job promoting the CLQ Championship this year and hopefully we can get 100+ owners to give it a try. We have so many NFFC owners who compete in all three contests each year and adding $250 to the sidepot has little risk and a lot of reward. In the NFBC, we had 201 teams signed up for the CLQ Championship in 2024 and this year's contest is already ahead of last year's pace. Let's get this pot to $25,000 or more in 2025 and really have some fun with that final table of 12 owners. Thanks everyone.

Okay, speaking about the 2025 CLQ Championship, who made it to the final table? Well, first of all, kudos to Philip Glukhovsky as he pretty much led the CLQ Championship from start to finish. He didn't win anything for that, but I believe we will run KDS manually according to the Top 12 finishes from 2024. So Phil will get his first KDS choice five days before draft date and we'll go down the line from 1st place to 12th place. Sound good?

Here are the 12 finalists for the 2025 NFFC CLQ Championship:

1. Philip Glukhovsky
2. Michael Fonte
3. Scott Schonewolf
4. Jeffrey Kozlowski
5. Jonathan Vriesema
6. Eddie Gillis
7. Kyle Hillesheim
8. Scott Wieland
9. Scott Stauffer
10. Brian Edwards
11. Jason Anthony
12. Andrew Hilts

Again, we had 49 individual owners competing in the Champions League Qualifier and we hope to double that next year. Here were the final standings based on their team totals from the Primetime, Rotowire OC and Best Ball Championship through 17 weeks:
