I think giving Favre a legit No. 1 WR will be a huge help for him. I don't think he's lost it. I think he can still play the position effectively and now he has a wide receiver who will enhance that potential and perhaps significantly.

The Packers-Vikings matchups certainly got A LOT more interesting now. Will we see another moon???

The Monday Night matchup now features Favre and Moss teamed up and the return of Revis. ESPN is so excited about the potential ratings bonanza they may even bump some coverage of the Miami Heat today.

This is a crazy trade from NE's perspective. Welker is going to catch 140 passes for 900 yards.

monday night got alot more interesting. thats your extra game. lets see how moss does. lets see how an offensive line that had its troubles can give favre time to throw downfield to moss when they had a hard time blocking the last few games.

That's really the key question and trading for Moss or any top WR wasn't going to change that. But the Vikings HAD to do this. Their most glaring need was a go-to WR and they didn't have to pay through the nose to get one. Getting Moss for a third is a very cheap price to pay. They still need to give Favre time so Moss can run his 9 routes and get deep but at least now they have a fighting chance. Likely much more than a fighting chance. Plus, it has to give Favre a serious jolt of excitement. He now feels like he can win with this group. I'm not sure he felt that way after the first three games.

i just dont buy that farve has not declined. he cant move around. and his deep ball does not have the cheese it used it. Seeing that deep touchdown to harvin (week 2?) farve looked like he gave it all he had and it was a weak throw.

oh yeah Moss had his bye week last week with 0 catches.

I find this shocking. I don't put much value into the "it gives Moss an extra game" logic for a couple reasons. It likely will take him a couple weeks to get in sync with the Vikings offensive system and for all intensive purposes he had WORSE than a bye this past Monday night since owners started his zero rather than playing someone else.

I think it helps Harvin some as coverages will have to roll toward Moss and that allows Harvin to be a PPR and RAC monster.

I can't think of why the Patriots would do this (especially if they only could get a 3rd round pick) unless they know their defense is not championship material or maybe they intend to shift into a running team with BJG.

Don't see moves like this in the NFL too often. the phrase is actually "for all intents and purposes."

I realize this is low on most peoples priorities but does anyone think this gets Edelman onto the field with Welker?
