I simply made stated that I would never put my money where my mouth is by taking a bet on whether or not he'd be drafted as an NFFC QB1. Of course he might! The love is strong.
Then you launch a tirade about me taking shots then backing off like I was joking? Huh? I'm still here after all these months. I haven't backed off my opinion of his play. Why on earth do you take it so personally that many don't share your love? Once again, I attacked the player, so you attack me. This truly is like a religious following.
Try to stay on point here. I made no claims as to your motives or any other Tebow-lover's. But you somehow feel it right to call me out as being Jon Stewart, blah blah blah. You evidently can't separate your emotions about the messengers from the player in question. I can. If that makes me more logical, so be it. But I suggest you forego the psychobabble BS and stay focused on Tebow and not just keep killing the messenger. Geez! I've never felt attacked, offended or anything else. None of this has has any affect on me personally.
I attacked you. Your words never were aimed at me. I simply pointed out that some Tebow haters are different than Tebow lovers in that the lovers know that they are driven by emotion and some haters don't.
That's it. That's my entire point.
You attacked Tebow lovers as "the cult", "a merry band of uber-gushing followers" and more. I don't know how to point out your personal attacks without it being a personal attack on you.
You misunderstood my analogy. When Stewart is challenged on his attacks he falls back on "being just a comedian". When you are challenged on your attacks you claim to have only said that he "won't be an NFFC QB1". Never did I say that you were joking or backing off.
My last name has been Swallows for 42 years. I can take about any label/name without being upset. I have zero feelings of animosity towards you.

He was a great player that shouldn't speak... Coming from the same guy that said Braylon Edwards would change the Jets and probably would be the best WR in football. Tim Tebow will prove everyone wrong, like he always does. Mark Sanchez needed to be pushed. He is not getting better. To bring in Tebow is a good thing, even with the circus. Say the Jets didn't make this trade, and Sanchez gets off to a bad start, the Jets are 1-4... what happens? They stick with Sanchez. They have no other option. Drew Stanton... Really?.... Now, if this happens, we can bring Tebow in and he has proven he can win. Mark Sanchez is a below average QB. He has been successful due to his elite defense, which I dont believe they have anymore. The only thing I can criticize about this entire thing is, they shouldn't have given Sanchez an extension. Though it gave them a lot of salary cap relief. It made them committed to Sanchez longer than I think was deserving. I am a DIE HARD Jets fan, as you know. I have my problems with Rex Ryan and some of the decisions they have made. As a football and team decision, I am in full support. It is going to be a fun year. Put aside everything else, the Jets will be interesting to watch. Not talking about you specifically, but in general from what I am hearing from Jets fans today. I love my team... and whoever plays on it (except Tom Brady... hehe), I will be there until the end.

Tim Tebow - update - Tebow to the JETS
Even if Tebow sees the field for more than just gadget plays this year, I highly doubt that he or his team will catch the same breaks that the Broncos were so fortunate to get, in what seemed to be every single game.
I think Sanchez will have to struggle severely for him to be yanked. The team has so much more invested in him than they do Tebow. Unfortunately, the Jet locker room is already a mess and the following that Tebow has will do nothing but complicate things. Please see Antonio Cromartie.
If Tebow was such a talent and sought after commodity in the league, there would have been more than a handful of teams seeking his services and offering lower round draft picks in exchange. IMO, he actually takes a step back by going to the Jets because he essentially starts over.
Here's to looking forward to Rex standing behind the podium bumping his gums about his two mediocre QB's...

Tim Tebow - update - Tebow to the JETS
Tebows fans are as much a part of his lack of suitors as he is. Only teams with a Top 5 or Bottom 5 QB should have had any interest. Nobody else can justify the circus.
Since there are only 10 potential teams and 80% of football talent evaluators don't like his skill set, that leaves about 2 interested teams. With so few interested teams, no team was going to risk a second or third rounder and be the next Josh McDaniels.
If the circus didn't come with the deal, there would have been 4-5 additional in the running and the price would have been higher.
I have no clue how this ends, but the biggest free agent signing in NFL history happened this week and it is the third biggest story going - not even a close third. Amazing!!!

Wow, I never saw this coming.
Mark Sanchez doesn't need this. Mark Sanchez doesn't want this. Mark Sanchez might not be able to handle this.
As if the New York Jets simply trading for Tim Tebow wasn't enough to keep Sanchez strung out, the New York Daily News is reporting that Tebow believes he can beat out Sanchez for the starting quarterback job.
Per a story in Friday's edition of the newspaper : "A major factor in Tebow’s push to come to New York over Jacksonville, his hometown, is that he sees a clear path to resuming his career as a starter, sources tell the Daily News."
That thud you just heard was Sanchez punching a wall.
Look, the Jets can slice it, dice it and spin it any which way they want, but there's no way around it: They have a Category 5 quarterback controversy on their hands. Mike Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan can call Sanchez the starter until they're blue in the face -- nothing's going to diffuse the situation.
And if Tebow is gunning for Sanchez's job, not understanding he's the backup ... that definitely ramps up everything to the next level.

Funny.. but fact is Tebow never said that.. it comes from a "source".. who, Mike Francesca???.. of course Tebow thinks he has a chance, but the article was written to sell papers. Tebow is a competitor and of course he will be trying to win the job. In the same sense, unlike Sanchez, Tebow will not be pouting on the sideline, if he doesn't play. He will be the man he is, deal with it professionally and with class, which has never been in question about Tebow.
Tell me one QB that doesn't want to start?.... Whoever it is, I don't want them on my team.
One question for all of you supposed Jets "fans".
Sanchez and Tebow
vs
Sanchez and Drew Stanton
Which would you rather have? It isn't even close and well worth the 4th round pick. As far as Sanchez failing under the pressure, well then at least we have a backup that can win games. Whatever negative you can say about Tebow, however he does it, he wins.
It is absolutely dumb founding that there is so much negativity about this trade. IT MAKES THE JETS A BETTER TEAM, for God's sake. What else matters? The media and supposed fans in New York are the biggest joke of them all, for making this a bigger deal than it is. Tebow never asked for the publicity. He is who he is and his attitude, positive nature, modesty, and he plays the game like it should be played, maybe not with great QB skills, but with guts and competiveness and that breathes life onto a football team. This and everyone saying he has no skills, he cannot play, and he will never win, and then he goes out and wins, has made him the icon he is. Of course, his outward religious faith has separated his dire hard fans from his haters, since religion seems to always cause a war.
Another question: Mark Sanchez complaining about Mark Brunnell taking qb snaps in practice.
vs
Mark Sanchez throwing 2 TDs vs the Patriots, then Tim Tebow grinding out 9 yards on a 3rd and 6 inside the 20, leading the team to victory?
Who cares about a "circus" ? I don't. I care about winning and as much as everyone hates Rex Ryan, thats all he cares about too.
If Mark Sanchez cannot handle having a backup QB that can actually play, then that's on Mark Sanchez and he was never going to be able to bring the team to a Super Bowl. I am not saying Tebow will either, but its so hilarious how the same people bashing Mark Sanchez last year, are all of a sudden his biggest supporters... What a joke.
But, I will say and I continue to believe this... Mark Sanchez is going to surprise you with how he handles all of this. He and Tebow are very good friends. Mark has never had compeition with the Jets. Mark will step up and have an outstanding season and his biggest supporter will be Tim Tebow. What everyone fails to realize is, Tim Tebow wanted to play in New York because he wants to WIN!!!! Something he had no shot of doing in Jacksonville. They are HORRIBLE!!
In the end, its about winning football games, and the Jets are a better team this week than they were last week. PERIOD!

Al, you are forever the optimist. Lol. I was rooting for Tebow in Denver. I will be rooting for Tebow as long as he continues to lead the way, by example. But until the season unfolds, I will stick to my guns saying that there is no way a team with 2 qb's can win. People take sides. Teammates take sides. Fans take sides. In a couple of months if I'm wrong(which I won't be...LOL), feel free to send me a PM titled "I told you so". I'm a good sport.
