I can even see where, during a given game, Sanchez throws an INT, some chants start for Tebow, and a bunch of die hard Jets fans throwing beer and hot dogs at the Tebow fans. When you have a polarizing figure such as Tebow, there will be people on both sides and a cause for debate and I just don't see the New York fan looking beyond the winning/losing aspect of this whole thing and in the end, Tebow added to the Jets roster, gives them a better chance to win, in my opinion. Sure, Tebow brings an entourage, but New York fans will ulitimately make the decision, and from what I am hearing, they don't buy the hype. Tebowmania will not be what it was in Denver. New York brings its own brand of hype. Its all about winning. And that's completely fine with me, as a Jets fan. I just want to win... I dont care who the QB is. My take away from this is:

Wayne
No, I didn't say Jets fans are smarter than other fans.. What it was meant to say was, NEW YORK fans don't go ALL IN to hype. If you don't perform you get booed, no matter who you are. Its not saying they are smarter. Its the biggest stage in the world for sports. If you don't cut it, be prepared to hear it. If anything, New York fans are too harsh. They don't have any patience, when sometimes it is needed. You took it completely the wrong way.. but whatever.. don't need to justify myself.

Al, you started off saying you know you're in the minority here. You had to know you weren't going to have much on your side here. This thread is best left for a copy and paste, a few months from now, so someone can say, "I told you so", because no one will budge on their opinion here. I still stand by my opinion that I do like Tebow. I think he could have made Miami a better team considering how the Dolphins actually seemed to let their team die this past free agent period. I actually DO like Sanchez. I think with a good running game and a handfull of smart, hard working wideouts, and a solid defense, Sanchez could lead a team deep into the playoffs. He won't throw for 4,000 yards or throw for 30+ tds, but he could be a god leader. But with Tebow AND Sanchez together, it creates mixed signals to an entire organization and this will not work out. I won't comment about it anymore...Only time will tell.

Tebow will not make the Jets a better team. If he were an obscure role player who had little notoriety and who was put in for special packages, then maybe. But that's not the reality of the situation.
Tebow can certainly make the Jets offense better as a player on the field, but anyone who ignores the bigger picture is just seeing what they want to see. Here you have a team which already has the most dysfunctional locker room in the league. This is because you have an oblivious head coach who is all bluster and who knows nothing about team chemistry, a star wide receiver (Holmes) who openly complains about poor QB play, and a below average QB who lacks confidence yet calls his team mates "gutless" because they complain anonymously to the media .
Now, add to this wonderful mix the most polarizing figure in Pro Football who is supposedly brought in as a backup, but who will soon be getting his own press conferences (when's the last time a backup QB had his own press conference?) and who most likely believes he can win the starting QB job. This will further divide an already chaotic, undisciplined, poorly led team. Get ready for more anonymous complaining and stories of mounting dissension coming from unnamed Jets players. That will certainly help with team unity, no doubt.
This is bad for the Jets, period. I find it amusing that the MB discussion has involved what the New York fans think and how they react, as if that somehow is an important factor about how this team performs. I've never seen an NFL team more ripe for implosion this early in March before the draft.
As Marc said, time will tell.

The OJ case was extremely polarizing. You either thought he was framed by racist cops or the he was set free by a race-based jury.
I believe to this day that OJ was guilty AND evidence was planted (not to frame an innocent man but to ensure a guilty man was sentenced though it backfired).
The Tebow story is quite analogous to the OJ story because both sides were right and wrong.
On the field I believe Tebow to be a bottom third QB to borderline UPS driver that becomes a middle third under pressure. Most middle third perform like bottom third under pressure.
Looking through your Tebow lenses lovers only see the middle third with little experience (aka upside) and all the haters see are brown trucks in his future.
When lovers look at haters and vice versa all we see are unreasonable positions that can only be explained by a lack of logic.
We all just have to wait and what happens when off the charts intangibles meet bottom of the charts tangibles.

As Marc said, time will tell. Stephen A Smith - Revisited. You watch too much Sports Center. Ask the players that played with Tebow. See what they say about him.. Other than the QBs that he beat out of a job because he deserved to, his teammates loved playing with him. He is and always has been a team guy, unlike most selfish players in the NFL, many of which are in the Jets locker room. To say he will make things worse is not a reflection on Tebow, but on the rest of the "me first" players in the Jets lockeroom. Bringing in a guy who brings a positive, "team first" mentality can never be a bad thing. Because it is Tebow, the hype will be from the fans and the media. If negativity comes from it, you will not be able to say it is from Tebow having a lack of work ethic, team mentality, or heart. The Jets need more "men" like Tebow and less men like Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie. This is the beginning of a change of mentality in the Jets locker room and it will prove to make the Jets a better team in the end. As Marc says, I guess we will see. But, its funny how the Tebow haters are the ones that hate this trade. Same ones (other than Marc) that gave him no credit in Denver last year and made every excuse how it was everything BUT Tebow that helped Denver win last year. Hey Marc, I agree that this is a "copy and paste" thread, but if the Jets succeed, the anti-Tebow group will admit nothing and say it was because of the defense or Sanchez playing better or some other reason. It will never be about Tebow and that's fine with me and it has always been what Tebow is about anyways. I am done now until football season, on this subject. If I want to see negativity and Tebow bashing, I will watch Sports Center or listen to Mike Francesca.... I for one, would rather enjoy my family and the good things that I have been blessed with. Whether the Jets succeed or not, with Tebow at QB or not, is all secondary to what really matters. You can continue with your negativity... I am done...

One thing I definitely agree with, is NOT liking Mike Francesca. I don't know why this guy ever takes call-ins from listeners because all he does it make each listener sound as if they have no idea what they are talking about...Along with his pompous, slight giggle about him as if he can't believe he even had to take the call and is fed up with another caller. Mike Francesca is the best thing to ever happen to sports radio. Just ask him and he'll tell you.

My statement was about how ultimately this will not make the Jets a better football team. I formed my opinion based on my own observations of football. I don't need someone else to feed me an opinion.
I'm not wasting my time getting into a circular discussion with you. It has always proven to be an enormous waste of time.
You just announced that you're "done" with this discussion. I highly doubt that.

You crack me up. I never watch Sports Center. Never.
"Deserve" ain't got nothin' to do with it
