Should There Be A Third Place League Playoff In 2009?

Personally I would not want to change the way the NFFC determines 1st, 2nd or entrants to the Championship Bracket.

I would like to see a playoff game for 3rd place money between the current third place winner which is total points AND a the next best H2H - EVEN if that was qualified....and maybe this makes more sense

3rd Place game = next best total points against either
1)Next best H2H record IF 9-4 or better (better than 2/3 W %, 10-3 is better than 3/4 win%)
2)If there is no team that is 9-4 (or better) then the other team in the 3rd Place game would be next on Total points.

The only other thing I think makes sense is IF Greg determines that he wants to incorporate All-Play records for the 3rd place league prize,with or without sending all those teams to the Championship Bracket (as Lumpy has suggested several places)

A 3 week playoff would be great.
How can it be considered luckier just because they got in the 3rd place playoff because they had the 2nd best record?
If they win a 3 week playoff, week 14,15 & 16 they would deserve 3rd place money.
How can anyone dispute that?

More people WOULD play longer, because they might have a chance at 2nd best record.
2nd best record is usually tied probably and would go to the team with that record that had the most points since that is the tie-breaker.
So points still reign.

One the NFFC Main Event, we have a team that is 9-1 but our leading scorer is NOT in first place. The 9-1 team is currently 3rd in points. Under the current scenario, he may end up 12-1 and get nothing because he is 3rd in points.

The current system for who advances to the big tourney is perfectly fine the way it is. Some of us just want a 3rd place playoff and the example above is a perfect reason why. It is NOT my team but Mark Moyers (Follow Me).

I like Lumpys idea. You then reward the winners of the three cats and possily make more owners happy.

My vote: No playoff as written. FYI.. Lumpy's idea does not reward "just" the winners of the three cats. The points winner could be 2nd, and the "all play" winner could be 2nd or 3rd in that cat.

He's one game out of first with more points right now than the first place team and third in points. He's right there and certainly in line to win some money...and even the most money. But RT sees him in his rear view mirror, I promise you that!!

It would be very hard for any of these 14 teams to not be the all-play (breakdown) leader also...

I'm not one of those 14 teams, but am one of the other 8 in the pts lead and I have a 7-game lead in all play over #2 in pts, which is neither Mark or Rick.
