Is There Any Interest In A $5K NFFC League?

You didn't step on my toes, Nag. I'm just glad we got back to the heart of the message, which was seeing if anyone wanted to expand the concept to a higher level. As you know, even the WCOFF proposed this in the past and it never got off the ground, but it looks like we have some guys here who would be interested in this. Whether you think the odds are good or not, the bottom line is that people can trust me and KP in running it first-class and guaranteeing the prize money. $35,000 return on $5,000 by beating 13 others is still $30,000 before taxes.

Besides, I still blame all this on grumpy Dyv. He got the Message Boards off on the wrong foot on Monday and we haven't recovered since.

He got Gordon so mad that he's even asking Lenny if he can come back and play. Dyv, you're not divorcing me, too, are you?

HAAAA!!! Those were from last year when they loved you soooooo much over there. Our guys don't give you the same type of love over here.

Just remember what you said to me after the draft in Las Vegas when we were all sitting around talking football. I don't think you would have gotten those coupons from someone else.

Gotta love these boards. Come join me, Dyv, John and Tamu for some golf in Myrtle Beach. It'll take the stress away from this fantasy life of yours. But remember to wear the John Deere polo shirt as they require collars in Myrtle Beach.

Add Team Thompson to the list of teams that say they would play in a $5K League. Needless to say, I think I'll add this to the schedule of events for September on Sunday, Sept. 4th and to the registration page when we re-do that. I also have a feeling we'll get a little national publicity for this as mainstream media will be surprised to see how far fantasy football has progressed.

in any event, please add "(prefers auction)" next to my name. not to be a downer, but i'm not sure i would play if it was a draft. getting a low-end pick would upset me too much

Okay, I'm bumping up this post because there was some talk about the NFFC Ultimate League last year and some guys tentatively said they would be interested in doing this. We are offering NFFC Ultimate Draft and Auction Leagues at $5,000 per person, but I'd prefer that we do only the auction leagues in one city rather than a teleconference. Obviously we can hook up three cities on a teleconference draft league if needed.

Anyway, looking at this thread from last year, here were some of the people who are interested, and I've added Jeff Dobies and Scott Keikoan to the list as both said they are interested in this for football. It's first-come, first-serve, so let me know via e-mail if you are serious about doing this on Sunday, Sept. 4th as we have reserved space in all three cities for this.
