I guess I don't see it as "seeds", moreso, a TIE for 1st between H2H and top points, because after 13 weeks, if it's two different teams, they've won the same amount of money at that point. Then they play the playoffs for the other 1/3.

Ok I got a new idea. If the person who has the best H2H also has the most points then they win the league and $1400. Then we take the person 2nd in pts and the person 2nd in H2H and they play out the weeks 14-16 for the other $700. Let it be decided on the field. Also both teams go to the overall playoffs as well.

Good idea ?

Yeah, let's make sure we have the two best teams making the money and the playoffs. Okay, let me look this over because I do remember this discussion and wanted to make sure we had it right this year. I thought I had addressed that, but maybe not. If h2h should be considered first then let's do it. I have to revise the rules soon with the new prize structure anyway, so we'll get it right. Thanks Henry for being on top of this.

I like Henry's last post. If you are tops in points and h2h, you win $1400. The 2nd highest points and 2nd highest h2h battle for the remaining $700.

I prefer it the way it is - even if you only win ONE of H2H or points, you should still have a chance to get the extra $700 in the playoffs. Why let 4 teams into the money round in a 12-team league?

Think about this scenario:
- Top point scorer makes playoffs with 1800 points
- Best H2H record is 10-3 but with only 1600 points
- 2nd high points has less than 10 wins but 1799 points
- 3rd high points 1798
- 4th points 1797
- 5th points 1796
- 6th points 1795
- 7th points 1794
- 2nd best H2H is 8th in points with only 1500

Under current 12-team rules, the first two teams tie to win the reg. season and each get 1/3 of the prize money (700), then they play the playoffs for the remaining 1/3. Does this potentially let a lucky inferior team into the playoffs? Yes. But that's the nature of H2H and as I've already mentioned, if we completely abandon H2H, we might lose a lot of teams.

If the same team wins both H2H and points, then they win the league title and get 1400 and the 2nd highest point scorer earns 2nd place and 700. If we instead have the 2nd point scorer play the 2nd H2H in the playoffs for 2nd place, doesn't this just introduce MORE luck in that a team that might have been 7th or 8th in points ALSO gets to play for 700 and we have two lesser teams either earning money or having a chance to do so instead of several stronger teams.

I still say we leave it as is: don't let more than 2 teams from a 12-team league into the playoffs and certainly don't give the second H2H team have a shot.

I think it's bad enough potentially having ONE lucky/bad team make money, but that's a necessary tradeoff to keep the number of entries and prize fund up. Adding another one would just **** off more people.

Good idea ? I'm not as much in favor of this idea because second most total points after Week 13 deserves the second place prize in this scenario. That's kind of what we were trying to achieve with your first suggestion to change the payouts. Just my two cents, but another level of rewarding second h2h record doesn't do it for me. But your first recommendation makes total sense.

You said you felt that the person with the 2nd best H2H record should get in over the person with the 2nd most pts did you not ? So if the person who finishes with the most pts and best H2H is the same person then you want to take 2nd best H2H over 2nd best points. That doesn't seem fair to me. The team with 2nd best H2H could have got very lucky and had to play a bunch of teams while their best players were hurt or on bye.
