Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Apr 01, 2005 3:23 am

Great minds think alike, so it wasn't surprising that I got the signup for Will Robertson of Sparta, New Jersey just minutes after Pete Lukowicz's signup came in. The two have partnered in several of our auctions and drafts, but they went alone in the NFFC's main event last year and will do the same thing again this year. Will competed in New York League 1 in 2004 as his Manda's Jowl Juicers finished with a 5-8 record and 1,563.65 points. The Juicers finished out of the money, but did finish 51st in the Consolation Bowl with 531.14 points. Will becomes our 16th signup in New York and our 46th returning team from 2004 as we now have a total of 55 signups for the main event. Thanks once again for your trust and support, Will, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Will Robertson and Pete Lukowicz have officially signed up for the NFFC's Ultimate Draft League on Sunday, Sept. 4th, our debut $5K entry fee league that has a potential payout of $37,500 for one team in that 14-team league. It's a straight draft with the same NFFC rules, although the playoffs are head-to-head for the grand prize. We now have three teams officially entered in that and we'll take the first 14 signups and then try for a second league. Right now the list includes Will and Pete, Jeff Dobies and Scott Keikoan. Will and Pete are also in the NFBC's Ultimate League right now as they attempt to win that $40,000 first place prize in baseball. Thanks again guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $37,500 first place prize in the NFFC Ultimate League.

Let's welcome another new member to the growing NFFC family as the tag team of Dennis Gahry of Osprey, Florida and Bob Radl will be joining us for the NFFC's main event on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at the Palace Station in Las Vegas. Dennis and Bob are both new to our family of high-stakes events, but I've competed against Bob several times in industry expert leagues. Bob is a writer for the Sandlot Shrink and he has won our FSTA Expert Leagues in the past and I know he will be in Las Vegas to compete again during our September Fantasy Sports Trade Conference. Thanks to both of you for your trust and support and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Oh, and the first beer is on me in Las Vegas! :D

Hey, that gives us 56 for the main event or four full leagues. Not a bad start as we head to 350 and maybe beyond!

Are you sticking in Chicago this year, Rick, or joining us in Vegas again? Either way we'll take care of you.We have a split vote right now, Greg, as I want Chicago but Gerard wants Vegas. We'll let you know soon as I don't want to leave the guys in Chi-town hanging whom I expressed an interest in playing hold'em with that weekend.

We now have at least one full league in Chicago as our 47th returning member from 2004 will again be drafting at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott. Let's give it up for the tag team of William Hare and Drew Masse of Cumming, Georgia, whose Clinton Street Steagles finished with an 8-5 record last year in Chicago League 2. They had 1,583.6 points during the regular season to finish 111th overall, but then finished 13th in the Consolation Bowl with 576.17 points. Their signup gives us 14 teams in Chicago as of now and 57 overall for the main event. Thanks for your trust and support again, guys, and best of luck this year in Chicago as you battle for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome our 48th returning team from 2004 to the 2005 event as Bill Ezzell of Bedford, Texas is returning to Las Vegas to compete in all three events -- and maybe one more. Bill was one of our first signups last year and he became a favorite at the Auction League draft in Las Vegas last year when he spent $152 on Priest Holmes and Shaun Alexander and then sent his co-manager out for a case of beer! :D Bill is changing co-managers this year as he's bringing his brother, Don, to this year's event, but Bill promises to have the beer situation in hand again this year. :D Mr. Bill & Sluggo finished out of the money in all three events last year, going 7-6 with 1,210.2 points in Las Vegas League 5 of the main event, going 7-6 in the Auction League with 1,601.05 points to just miss the playoffs and finishing with 1,910.35 points in the Draft Champions League. But Bill and Don will be back for all three events at the Excalibur and Palace Station hotels and may even add the Ultimate League before Draft Day. Thanks Bill for your trust and support once again and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize, $4,000 Auction League prize and $4,250 Draft Champions league prize. See ya in Las Vegas, where we now have two full leagues for the main event and 58 signups overall.

We're glad to welcome another new member to the growing NFFC family as the tag team of Keith Yoshimura and Duke Viveros of Crestline, California will be joining us for the NFFC's main event on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at the Palace Station in Las Vegas. Keith and Duke competed in our National Fantasy Baseball Championship for the first time this March and had a great time, asking many questions of our guest speaker during the Welcome Reception and thoroughly enjoying the draft at the Rio. They thanked me afterwards and said they would return for football, and sure enough, here they are. Best of luck during the baseball contest, guys, and thanks for your trust and support again in football. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for this $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize as I'll see you again in Las Vegas in a few months.

Best to stick with our original plan. Not just for the hold-em but because this years winner will come from the Chicago draft ;)

It's hard to find a more passionate duo for the NFFC than the tag team of Carlos Perez and Brian Rich of Ontario, California as they live and breathe fantasy football. The tag team called Ponch & John competed in Las Vegas League 3 last year and tied with champion Teenage Wasteland for the best league record at 10-3. However, they lost the $5,000 on the points tie-breaker and in fact didn't earn any league money as their 1,727.3 points were good enough for fourth in LV 3 and 43rd overall. In the Consolation Bowl, Ponch & John finished 22nd with 561.67 points, missing a money finish by 50 points. Carlos and Brian are already mock drafting in preparation for their draft on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at the Palace Station in Las Vegas. We now have 60 signups for the main event and 30 in Las Vegas. Keep 'em coming as Ponch & John are our 49th returning members from 2004. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
