Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jul 12, 2005 10:39 am

We're glad to welcome another new member to the growing NFFC family as the tag team of Robert Fagan of Hickory Hills, Illinois and Joe Mankiewicz has signed up for the NFFC's main event at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Robert and Joe are new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome them with gifts and free drinks. We're working on that third league in Chicago and 11th overall and hope to have both filled soon. Thanks Robert and Joe and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jul 12, 2005 10:46 am

Let's give it up for our 102nd team from the 2004 event to return in 2005 as the tag team of Ronald Rogers and Danny Danoff of New Orleans, Louisiana has just signed up to return to Las Vegas for the NFFC's main event. Their R2 D2 team finished with a 9-4 record in Las Vegas League 3 last year, finishing just out of the money with 1,635.5 points, which was good enough for 83rd overall. They were among the Top 10 overall before Priest Holmes went down with injury and weren't able to recover after that. Ronald and Danny look forward to their return back to Las Vegas and a chance to win the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize. Best of luck guys and remember that the first beers are on me.

Our next signup comes courtesy of Ronald Rogers, who referred his good friend to the NFFC this year. Let's give it up for Brett Lala of Hammond, Louisiana, who becomes our newest member of the growing NFFC family. Brett is a veteran fantasy football player who has heard good things about the NFFC and is ready to join us in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 3rd for the main event. Thanks for the call today, Brett, and welcome aboard. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

We've just filled up our 11th league for the main event between the three cities and heading toward the halfway point of our goal of 350 teams. Our latest signup is new to the growing NFFC family as Norman Cruz of Belmont, California has signed up to compete in the NFFC's main event at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Norman read about the NFFC in Fantasy Sports Magazine, gave me a good phone call and definitely liked the format and the multiple city concept. He's already working on his draft lists and ready to battle for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Best of luck to you Norman and remember that I'll buy the first beers in Las Vegas....even if it is a 10 a.m. draft out there! :D

Our next signup is our 103rd returning member from 2004 and he's changing locations with the hope of winning the trifecta! ;) James Tracy of Batavia, Illinois competed in all three NFFC events last year in Chicago, but this year he is heading out to Las Vegas and will compete in all three events on Sept. 2 and 3. He becomes our 25th signup for the NFFC Auction League in Las Vegas and our 18th signup for our Las Vegas Draft Champions League. He's also our 76th signup for the NFFC's main event in Las Vegas as we begin working on our 12th league between the three cities.

Last year, James finished 11-3 in the Las Vegas/Chicago Auction League, leading all teams with 2,044 points. He scored 197.2 points during a semi-final win over the savy veterans, but then lost in the championship game to Team Eliason 184.15-145.1. His Lucky 13 team finished seventh in the New York/Chicago Draft Champions League with 2,253.95 points and Lucky 13 struggled in Chicago League 1 with a 4-9 record and 1,268.3 points. We're glad to have you back for the trifecta this year, James, and we wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize and the $4,000 Auction League prize. See ya in Sin City.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

We welcome our 104th returning member from 2004 to our 2005 event and we're glad they are joining us for the trifecta this year. The brother tag team of David and Gregg Zwickel of New York City will claim home field advantage in all three events this year as they will once again return to the New York Hilton on Sept. 2nd and 3rd for the Auction League, Draft Champions League and Main Event. David has been an original member of the NFBC and he competed with Gregg last year in the NFFC's main event and Draft Champions League. Team Zwickel finished 8-5 in New York League 4 last year, finishing 118th overall with 1,574.4 points. Team Zwickel then finished 75th in the Consolation Round with 501.96 points. Team Zwickel didn't fare quite as well in the New York/Chicago Draft Champions League, finishing out of the money with 1,949.1 points. But they return for all three events this year as David is a veteran of our baseball auction leagues. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize, $4,250 Draft Champions league prize and the $4,000 Auction League prize.

I'm glad to welcome back our 105th team from 2004 to the 2005 event. Scott Billings of Cypress, Texas is returning to Las Vegas this year and this time he's doubling his pleasure. Scott will be competing in the Draft Champions League on Friday, Sept. 2nd at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, becoming our 19th team out there. He's also signed up for the NFFC's main event at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 3rd as we're halfway home to our sixth league out there and 12th league overall. Scott led his Texas Lightning team to an 8-5 record in Las Vegas League 2 last year, finishing 89th overall with 1,627.2 points. Welcome back, Scott, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and $4,250 Draft Champions League prize.

Oh, and I'm working on a private poker game just for NFFC managers and co-managers in Las Vegas at the Palace Station on Saturday afternoon after the main event. I think we'll be able to do it, but I'll have more information soon. Nothing like what happened last year in that other event, I promise you.
