Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jul 26, 2005 11:03 am

We welcome back our 113th team from the 2004 event to this year's event as Christopher Dimeo of Turnersville, New Jersey will be returning to the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 3rd for the NFFC's main event. Chris led his Team Dimeo to a 6-7 finish in New York League 6 last year, finishing 109th overall with 1,584.4 points. Team Dimeo then finished 119th in the Consolation Round with 464.33 points. Chris is also interested in the $1,000 NFFC Mid-Season League and hopes we get enough owners for at least one of those leagues. We'll do it, Chris. Thanks for your trust and support once again and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's give it up for our newest member of the growing NFFC family as the tag team of Jon Lopes of Cumberland, Rhode Island and co-manager Alex Kieon have just signed up for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Jon and Alex are new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome them with gifts and free drinks! ;) Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome back our 114th team from 2004 to the 2005 event as Anthony Gambuzza of Wayne, New Hampshire has just signed up to compete in the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Anthony led his Uncle Louie's Losers team to a 7-6 record in New York League 6 last year, finishing 138th overall with 1,544.05 points. Uncle Louie's Losers got hot in the Consolation Round last year as they finished 24th overall with 559.43 points. Anthony is eager to compete again in the NFFC and he said he has at least one other team coming among his buddies. Thanks for your trust and support once again, Anthony, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?

Kevin Rogers of Cape Coral, Florida becomes our 115th returning team from 2004 to come back this year as he just signed up for the NFFC's main event at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Kevin also becomes our 12th owner to sign up for the $5,000 NFFC Ultimate League, leaving us with two open spots there. Kevin and his partner Kevin Moss are currently competing in the National Fantasy Baseball Championship, with their team in the Top 10 overall after winning three of the weekly prizes for top team, the only team to ever do that three times in our contest. They are also in the hunt for first place in the Ultimate League prize. Kevin's Weird Science team competed in Las Vegas League 6 of the NFFC last year and struggled to a 3-10 record and 1,231.25 points, but he expects better results this year. Thanks for your trust and support, Kevin, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize this year and the $5,000 league prize.

The NFFC Ultimate League will take place on Sunday, Sept. 4th at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas as we currently have nine Las Vegas owners and three in New York. We can definitely do a teleconference hookup if necessary and we'll try for a second league if we fill this one. Thanks again Kevin for your support and best of luck in the hunt for the $42,500 in prizes in that league.

We welcome back one of the most serious fantasy football players in the country to the NFFC as John Barkow of Hartland, Wisconsin will be returning to Las Vegas this year for the NFFC's main event and the NFFC Auction League. John competes in the NFFC, the WCOFF and just about every other contest out there as he's planning to stay in Las Vegas for 10 days to compete in both high-stakes events in Las Vegas, just like he did last year. John said he's still peeved about his team's late season demise last year as Mass Destruction finished 7-6 in Las Vegas League 5 and 57th overall with 1,684.9 points. The late season swoon dropped Mass Destruction to fourth place in LV 5 and out of the money, as it also finished 90th in the Consolation Round with 492.76 points. Better luck this year John as you battle for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We officially have 13 full leagues in the NFFC's main event now and working on the 14th league already. John Barkow becomes the 26th owner in the NFFC's Las Vegas Auction League, leaving two more open spots there. That event will take place on Friday, Sept. 2nd at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino. John didn't compete in the Auction League last year (he sat around and drank with me and John Piontek!), but he's looking forward to the competition there this year. Thanks for your trust and support and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000 in league prizes there.

We officially kick off our 14th NFFC league for the main event with the return of our 117th team from the 2004 event. Let's welcome back the tag team of Kevin Cummings of New York City and his dad, James. The father-son team led Team Cummings to a 9-4 record in New York League 5, one of FIVE teams that tied for fifth place in NY 5. Their score of 1,643.95 points was good for 80th overall, but it wasn't quite good enough for a money finish in NY 5. Better luck this year guys as you chase the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. We promise another tough competition for you in 2005, so good luck.

We're glad to welcome back our 118th team from 2004 to the 2005 main event as William and Charles Tyrer of Beverly Hills, California will be joining us again in Las Vegas. Will has been involved in the NFBC and NFFC the last two years and his Coyotes team is in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize in baseball right now. The Coyotes finished 7-6 in Las Vegas League 1 of the NFFC last year, finishing 82nd overall with 1,641.85 points. Will becomes our 81st signup in Las Vegas, three short of our entire total there last year. The returning members keep coming back, which is very heartening to see. Let's welcome back our 120th team from 2004 to the 2005 main event as the tag team of Tom O'Connell of Valley Cottage, New York and Jim O'Connell will be returning to the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Tom and Jim led their Rockland Sharks team to a first place tie in New York League 4 at 9-4, but finished with third place money after their 1,711.4 points were good enough for 45th overall. The Sharks then finished 81st overall in the Consolation Round with 498.70 points. We're glad to have you guys back in the NFFC this year and we wish you best of luck once again in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
