I'm not sure what the exact %s are in regard to RBs vs. WRs taken in what rounds, and the success rates of specific strategies, but if you cats keep up this "3RBs in the first 3 rounds" talk, I'm gonna' have to go change my chonees!!! Lamont/McGahee/Droughns?!?!? Tiki/Jamal/Kevin/Curtis?!?!? Please excuse me fellas.....I promised myself I wouldn't cry.....

I didn't imply there was something "wrong" with 2RB/2WR. Didn't you, yourself just say "When you have mind set that you have draft a particular way coming in, that's when you miss on players"? Are you saying this thought does not apply to 2RB/2WR as it would to other combinations? >

Nag, it's a matter of personal preference but I'm a staunch believer in having RB strength and the ability to find quality WR talent throughout the draft and especially in the later rounds (where guys like Muhammad, Galloway and Santana Moss to name three examples have come up huge in recent seasons).

As for the 3RB deal, I think you took the BPA on the board at the time and that's the strategy I use for the first 4 rounds. BPA = Best Player Available.

First of all ....2006 will be forever known as the "year of the big screen in the Kessinich house.
Second....I'm throwing my hat in the ring with Nag on this topic. "Value pick" has got to be the most over used phrase in all of FF land. Value is a relative term to begin with. Here's a quick example using K.Jones.

In 2005 he was a projected late first/early second round pick by most experts. In 2006 he's getting these reviews from TK......only scored well for a few games against sub par defenses in 2004.....can't stay healthy.......watch out for Calhoun stealing touches....just to name a few.
7.33 ppg is what he gave his owners last year over a 16 game FF season.

If his projections are so bleak then why would he be viewed as a 3rd round "value pick". Momma always says "value is as value does".

K.Jones with these projections CAN'T lead your team to the promised land but here are a few that might:

A.Gates 17 ppg
A.Boldin 18 ppg
S.Smith 21 ppg
M.Harrison 16 ppg

I agree with Nag.....that trends will reveal certain predictabilities among FF owners. Most owners (especially the experts) have a hard time laying off the RB's. Sure they'll say they're picking "best player".....it just so happens that the "best player" is a RB in most instances for the greater majority of owners.

Bottom line for me in the NFFC: I want to draft a team that can average 145 ppg and I don't care which position supplies the points.
