I agree with your post wholeheartedly. I truly do. I am a very passionate person who doesn't like when others are belittled because they do not agree with someones ideaology.

I am all for the improvement of the game, to make the rules equally beneficial and to level the playing field.

Also, I am the first to admit all of my drafting mistakes, my FAAB blunders and my coaching decisions on a game by game basis.

Ultimately, I will play in NFFC no matter what rule changes take place.

As far as Mom is concerned...she knew I was a handful right when I was born. The Ob/Gyn doctor spanked my @ss and I instead of crying I turned to him and said, "Yo, you got a fuggin problem, doctor?"

Interesting discussion as always, guys. But let's keep the conversation lively, but polite and respectful. Thanks.

If I bet, I would guarantee that you win this week...can't have that.

I'm still alive but drawing to an inside straight and with only 1 card in the deck to help me.

Terry Glenn out and Holt on a bye has me starting 2 TEs this week. Trent Green is going to come off my bench and I'm hoping for a huge game against Indy.

Pocket Aces losing Westbrook is huge. I don't think it's farfetched for me to have a chance to pass them, being 1 down with 6 to go. Your team is strong, but any team with WRs as its strength will have bad weeks (I know). Jones Falls Terrace is obviously in great position, if not by record then by total points.

At least I have my Auction team to smile at. Anchored by Priest, Tiki and Droughns and with a bevy of very good WRs I'm looking good to get into the playoffs. With 2 losses of less than a point I'll probably not get a bye so I'll have to win 3 in a row to get the top money. That scares me. Even with the top scoring team I've lost 3 out of 7. Anything can happen head to head.

Your strongest attribute thus far has been your recent waiver wire aquisitions. But your waiver releases are a whole different story.

The scary thing about NY LEAGUE 6 is the guy who took CPEP @ 1.11 and then grabbed Bulger @ 4.4. If he went with a WR in the fourth round, I would be probably 2-5 and on the message forums pushing FAAB for slot bidding!

Well...WR teams could have bad weeks just like RB heavy teams could have bad weeks. Look at the RB's who have not performed to their expectations or have gotten hurt or both -

Deuce
Jamal Lewis
Dom Davis
Brian Westbrook
Chris Brown
T. Henry
Lee Suggs
Kevin Jones
Julius Jones
Q. Griffin
Wheatley
Moe Williams
-----------------

The winning team is like a very complex puzzle. You have your draft, and looking at the #'s, guys who drafted guys like - Tiki - Culpepper - Javon Walker - Stokley & Wayne - Curtis Martin - McNabb - A. Johnson - C. Dillon are very competitive.

Throw in some Droughns, M. Moore, S. Morris, B. Hoover on the Waiver Wire....

Add a pinch of scheduling luck like I have had thus far.

And a dash of team chemistry and you got your self a winner!

As mentioned before, most drafts are SCRIPTED because we read the mocks on antsports, we read what Hansen and Dodds and the other paid sites say, and we listen to what our buddies from the hometown as well.

No one told me take Deuce @ 1.4 when I speculated CPEP would throw 45 TDs this year.

I would love to come to the draft next year without reading a stitch of information on the Internet. I bet I would do a lot better.....Most experienced fantasy ballers would.

Sometimes you get lucky with information.

The info on Steve Smith's hammy touted me off of him. Of course that had nothing to do with his ankle, just luck.

I was also worried about Coles' toe and Coles has indeed sucked.

I also learned from the Internet that Santana Moss had a bad hammy at draft time so I left him alone. Still bad.

I also had Steven Davis down as a risk too big for drafting.

Well, there's always the consolation. With Droughns, Hoover/Wheatley, Harrison, Holt, Moulds and Witten/Wiggins...could make some noise with the top teams in the finals.

Thanks for the responses to my question. I agree that this is a win/win idea. I think once all the bantering is complete, we should still pitch this thing the way Gordon originally presented it's benefits:
1)More fun
2)Added element of strategy

Did I get that right?

The thing I'm concerned over is if we continue down the path of "Draft position matters" we will leave a lasting impression that if you get a certain slot in this event - you're toast.

I know it's been stated over and over that you can win from any position, but sometimes reading the posts, it's hard to believe that everyone posting really adheres to that school of thought.

Being one in favor of this idea,I would like to see it maintain a positive spin. I guess I don't know why so many pages have needed to be written about this. It's such a simple idea to understand yet we seem to have made it hard.

Thanks for the ear

If you drafted in the 14 hole in NY1 it is possible to have put this team on the field= Manning, Dunn, Emmitt, Owens, Walker , Bruce , Wayne at flex , Gates. Of course this is in hindsight , but so is this whole argument. Now i am willing to bet this would be a very good team in any league. In fact after 7 weeks this team would have 1018 points if the average kicker and defense was included. Not to mention quite a few points from bye week replacemnets. There are in fact only 2 teams in the whole league with more points. If you add in bye week points i would bet this is the top team out of 224 from the 14 hole! Just food for thought.
