Gekko,

Question for you. With regard to this thread/topic you started (and have talked about in other threads). Do you propose the NFFC main event switch to an all play format? Or are you just venting standard H2H frustrations but really do not think the NFFC needs to change?

~Lance I agree with Lance here.

Yes, you can get screwed by H2H, but if you don't keep it as some worthy part of the prize money, your "average joe" will not play.

That all being said, POINTS are without question the best way to judge a person's success.

If "all play" wasn't added to the equation, I would be first in line for a prize pool like this....

After 13 weeks, with the top 2 points and H2H in each league getting automatic bids (as usual) and the 10% rule still in effect...

1st in points- $5,000
Best H2H- $2,500
Next best in points- $1,300

Basically this is completely opposite of the way it was for the first 3 years in the NFFC. The problem is there is now no need for the 3 week playoff between H2H and points (if needed), and I think that is one of the best things going in ANY fantasy league I play in.

Another problem is the "average joe" would come on saying "wins should be more important than points just like in the NFL." The problem is fantasy football is really NOTHING like the NFL.

When a player goes down in the first quarter I can't replace him.

I can't gameplan against my opponent, and am pretty much at the mercy of what he or she does that week, etc.

Honestly it really doesn't matter to me a whole lot if some minor tweaks ar made. The NFFC has made GREAT strides to make this contest the fairest out there with KDS, 3RR, the 3 week playoff, etc. so anything else to me is just gravy.

The goal in ANY fantasy football format for me is (and always will be) to score the most points each week and put the best team you can on the field. :D

Score as much as you can, and realize that it will all even out over time, and that some things are simply out of our control.

Everyday life is like that, why wouldn't fantasy be also?

perfect if you like completed passes that yield about 1/2 yard.
I believe Gekko is looking for someone to advance the ball.... not just wax.

I agree that the above post by BillyWaz makes a lot of great points. But I wanted to comment on one thing.
BillyWaz stated that without question POINTS are the best way to judge a person's success.

I believe the all-play record is a slightly better indicator of a team's strength than total points.

Raiders,

Total points vs all-play

Team scores 190 points week one. Then scores around 100 the next 3 weeks. Their total points woud probably still be near the top. Their all-play record would not be as good.

In my opinion, all-play is a slightly better indicator of a teams strength than total points.

In my opinion, all-play is a slightly better indicator of a teams strength than total points. The way to implement all-play without it being boring, in a way that makes the week-to-week MORE interesting, is to implement a dual-win system where each week the top half of the lge get an extra win and the bottom half an extra loss.
