H2H Exposed Part 1
H2H Exposed Part 1
13 weeks more than enough time? How ridiculous! Would you likewise say that 20 weeks is enough in baseball, you'd be in favor of just freezing the standings in late August?
After 13 weeks of pressure you simply want to relax and feel like you've won, but you haven't and you shouldn't. You've won the right to move on, you haven't proven yourself best in the league, no one has at this point.
Apparently you missed everything I posted above.

Gekko,
You are hysterical and dramatic and I apologize for making some frustratingly fair points.
Back to the topic and to everyone else who enjoys talking about it...
The most important thing as it relates to the NFFC is steadily growing the event and prize funds. As much as it frustrates some, H2H is an important component to fueling interest in a major fantasy football event. I really think the current balance we have between H2H and total points is good. This comes from someone who has been rather unlucky in H2H for most of his NFFC career.
Carry on.

You want 3 teams in the playoffs no matter what. I have responded to that several times now.
In the majority of the leagues, the 3rd place team doesn't deserve to be in a league playoff. I have pointed out where I think they do.
After 13 weeks, having a 150 pt lead on the third place team is clearly a sign of dominating that team. In fact, I could take a ZERO in one of those last three weeks and still beat him.
You want that third place team to luck job into a title the same way some h2h winners now luck job into the $100K tournament.
Sorry, but I 1000% disagree.
It is insanely hard to build up a winning team in this competition, and I am totally against you trying to add teams to the playoffs that don't deserve to there.
I like Lumpy's concept, but if someone wins all three cats, they win the league. There is NO DEBATE that they are NOT the best team under that scenario.
If two or three teams wins those cats, then let them play weeks 14-16 for the title. No extra BS points. Battle it out.
This scenario would add many more teams to the contest than the luck job approach.

H2H Exposed Part 1
Interesting perspective KJD. Never heard this brought up before, but seems real valid.
No relaxing? lol ... way it should be!
Of course I don't lead LV1 for multiple years.
Ask John about his 14th place perspective in 2006. lol

HMan83 I would say the exact same thing.
Which is why I wrote about it being insanely hard to win against the great competition here.
Doing well needs to be protected, not torn down.
No way in hell should Jules have had to compete against a 3rd team in that league I was in that year. No way in hell.
Oh, btw, can someone tell me which week last year I was able to relax?

16 weeks regular, 4 weeks of playoffs.
nffc is 13 weeks regular, 3 weeks of playoffs.
EVERY team in NFFC gets to play in the playoffs, not just 37%.
The top 10% get to play for $100K
The bottom 90% play for $2500.
If you don't have the best h2h AND pts, you get to have a playoff.
So that covers all 16 weeks pretty fairly IMO.
All I see from you is an effort to add more teams to the league championship round that more times than not, don't deserve to be there.
I'm all for teams that deserve to be there.

For everyone interested in this topic...
Are people unhappy with the way things are now? I understand we can debate new ideas and formats... But for a moment can we talk about the current format. I know gekko started this topic with a complain about H2H but it started a fun discussion as it is an interesting topic.
Are people happy with the current format that rewards the H2H winner and also the total points champ as well as allowing the top 10% in overall points to make the post season tourny via a wild card.
Are people happy with that? Unhappy?
Just curious.
