I learned to go with gut feeling over the so-called fantasy, radio, and tv experts. Next year I will not watch any fantasy shows or pay much attention to any fantasy books, KP and GEKKO excluded of course. At the risk of rendering myself irrelevent :D the best advice I give to fantasy owners every year is to trust your gut. Always. Use the information, analysis, opinions etc. at your disposal as a way to prepare yourself for your draft and your in-season moves (Waiver Wire, Trades, Lineups), but at the end of the day it's your team, not mine or Greg's or RotoWire's or RotoWorld's, John Hansen's or Joe Bryant's or whoever. It's yours. So if you feel strongly about someone that differs from what the "experts" say don't hesitate to go with your gut. You could be wrong or right, but in my opinion what makes this game fun is making the decisions that ultimately decide your team's fate.

We are given these "expert" tags because we're fortunate enough to work in this industry but while I like to think I know a thing or two about the NFL and fantasy football by no means am I perfect and by no means do I have all the answers or make the right decisions (I have a Reuben Droughns story in my main league this year that is best told over some beers -- a LARGE number of beers :D ). But the fun part for me is analyzing everything at my disposal and then testing myself against everyone in my league.

So when in doubt trust your gut above everything else. It's the best advice I can give and it's the best way to truly enjoy this game in my opinion.
Very well said Tom! If I would have trusted a certain service out there, I would have drafted clowns such as Santana Moss and T.J Duckett.

I did draft Koren because I thought he could be this year's Torry Holt. My other option at that point was Jimmy Smith, and I said "do I play it safe, or take the high risk- high reward player?" Obviously I guessed wrong, but NO ONE gets them all right in a 14 person draft with the masterminds we all had to go up against.

My gosh, I've lost more leagues than I've won in my life... but like in baseball, batting .300 or even .280 is solidly good... you know, if you hit a few HR every now and then ;)

i have learned that the end of the football season is now even more painful then it was in years past...

this was my first high stakes fantasy league and i found it to be wonderfully fulfilling. i sense this is something i will be part of for years to come.

i learned that if you overmanage your team and it comes back to bite you, you want to hang yourself... if you go with your initial gut feeling and it turns out to be wrong, at least you went with your gut.

i too cut drew brees (mainly because i had manning) and watched some other savvy owner ride him to the playoffs and nearly beat me for the league title...

i made multiple mistakes with my free agents and am embarrassed to admit i spent 720ish on KI-JANA CARTER and the 1.2 points he got me... this killed me for later pickups of droughns, goings, wiggins, and many others...

tamu... i might be looking you up for tips on best courses to hit down there .... would you be a good guy to consult?

Yes, renman, I have played many down here and would certainly be helpful in that area. My favorite course besides the one I live on is on the NC-SC border with a par 6, 672 yard 18th hole.

BillyWaz, no, I would never drop Joe Horn as he is the best Saint, even though he did get caught screwing around with Willie Roaf's wife which ultimately ended up with the Saints trading Willie Roaf. But that's off the field stuff. Fact is, when healthy, he can hang with the best of them. Good to see you saw that too. :D

How would you like ripping 280, 250, 250 and still being 227 from getting on the green in regultaion?

Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?
Okay, Tamu, that does it. The wife would never approve of this "business" trip, but I HAVE to get down there and play golf with you. We've got snow on the ground here in Wisconsin and five more months of this crap ahead of us (maybe six). Just the thought of that par 6 has me grabbing the big stick (the Callaway, folks, the Callaway).

Dyv, there must be a fantasy bass fishing tournament down there we can scout, huh? That would be a good start to a foursome of NFBC vets.
