AUCTION TOURNAMENT 2008 LEAGUES

Post by weber7777 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 3:15 pm

- I know we have all talked about this. Greg said we could do it. This is how i suggest we do it.

Last year i believe there were 6 auction leagues that took place in all locations. If you want to add the auction satellites that is fine it doesn't matter for purposes of end of season tournament.

It's very simple. If you want to qualify for end of season tournament you have to pay an additional fee of $25.00. Not steep at all. Doesn't matter what money league your in because the format of all the leagues are all the same and the drafting of teams doesn't change if your in a 650 league compared to a 1300 league.

At the end of 13 weeks you simply take the top 15 teams from all the leagues regardless of record. Just based on points. If one of the top 15 didn't pay the $25.00 u just go to the next team down the line.

Take the average point total for weeks 1 through 13 and run a tournament for total points through week 16 just like main event.

First place gets $700 and Trophy and bragging rights
2nd place gets $500
3rd place gets $300
4th place gets $200
5th place gets $50

This prize structure doesn't account for NFFC's take if they want one. it's up to Greg and Tom. In addition if there is more money in prize pool or less money in prize pool the money would get adjusted accordingly..

I could care less if they just gave a trophy however i think it would be cool to have a tournament for all the auction leagues.

Greg can we seriously consider putting this into place for this year?

I would be up for this, but suggest we bump it up to $50 and DOUBLE the prizes.

A question about the prizes you have set up there. Were you just guessing?

If there were 6 total auction leagues in all 4 cities, that would be 84 participants. Assuming they all paid the $25 (which is doubtful), that would put you at a total of $2100.

I guess I am just trying to figure out how you came to a total of $1,750?

Regardless, I would double it to $50, the amount of people you lose due to having to pay an extra $25 will easily be offset by the extra cash.

Just my opinion.

Good Idea! :D

Good idea Weber. Like BillyWaz said, an extra $50 per guy would be fine with me.

I'd also have to check with STATS to see how we can match up the leagues for the final weeks. It's a good idea, but I wouldn't post the overall prizes until we knew how many auction league teams were in for the post-season idea.

thats the reason i thought 25 would be better.. going to be tough to get people to shell out an extra 50.00.. we want everyone to pay the tax so to speak, if they don't pay it the prize money goes down.

- i think the satellites should have an opportunity to be included as well.. it's all the same in terms of who can put together the best auction squad whether theyare in a 100 league or 1300 league..

If Greg can make it work, then I'm in...If not, then I'll just have to dominate the Auction without the "NFFC AUCTION TITLE" Weber is proposing...lol..Either way, I'm looking forward to the auction. There's nothing else like it.

Count me in for the extra money, even if it is $50. In fact, please consider the auction format for the main event, and I'll do that as well.

I agree with the idea with the exception being that I do not think the Sats should be included. I think that only the teams drafted that Friday should be involved. This way everyone has the one team they drafted on the same day as everyone else kind of like the main event.

I would volunteer to take care of the stats over the final 3 weeks and create weekly reports.
