A Seven-Year-Old And His Fathead

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sat Jan 10, 2009 7:26 am

I'll admit it. I've corrupted my seven-year-old son. He now bleeds Green and Gold even more than me.

I took him to this year's Family Night scrimmage at Lambeau Field in August and he fell in love with the atmosphere (the fireworks display after the game didn't hurt at all). He lived and breathed every game with me and became a fan of Aaron Rodgers like I grew to love Brett Favre. In fact, by season's end he asked his mom if he could have his bedroom painted Green and Gold.

Sure enough, we took the bait and went hog wild. Packer curtains, Packer bedspread, Packer sheets and walls painted green on the bottom with grass clippings, yellow on the top half and a green ceiling. My brother then gave us a small A.J. Hawk Fathead that he had left over and naturally that led to us ordering an Aaron Rodgers Fathead for the other wall.

We just put the six-foot Rodgers Fathead up this afternoon to complete the ultimate 7-year-old Packer bedroom. If it doesn't have Green and Gold on it, it's not in this bedroom. :D He is now TOTALLY on board with his dad. I love it!! :D

Could that be considered "brainwashing???"

His chances of ever being a true Coltsfan are being diminished by this Packer misinformation.

Brainwashing no, child abuse maybe!

My son did what I did. He rebelled. My family are all Bears fans (poor saps) but I went the way of Silver and Black. My son somehow chose the Saints?

I am jealous as that bond is pretty cool. You will suffer and celebrate as one. Our only NFL bond is our teams' propensity for failure.

The next step is the fantasy sports arena. You two can partner up for the drafts and both wear your Rodgers jerseys for the next decade.
My mama says she loves me but she could be jiving too! BB King

I promise that the two of us will be on the other side of the draft table some day as a team. That's a PROMISE.

You need a Marion Barber Fathead in that room Eddie!! :D

And thanks for clarifying on a different NFBC post that you don't sleep with Dom. I didn't want to picture that. :D Keep the wife happy and I look forward to meeting her for the first time in March. What fun that is going to be.

I always thought those Fatheads were weird, but they are pretty cool. They come with so many stickers that his room is filled with more G logos than bare space. It's cool. Rodgers was on sale (40% off). I guess that bummer season was worth something. :D
