Thanks Greg!
It's amazing you would have done what most requested yet Lenny is stating it wasn't feesible.

"I see what youre saying, but yhe only way to extend the deadline is to extend it to NEXT Friday and effectively wipe out this week as a picking up free agents. I appreciate the ideas, but I can say this much for certain.... You can't get ahold of every team -- either via phone, or email -- between yesterday and Saturday to let them know that their bids have been exposed and they can go back on the site and re-bid (or leave it the same if they choose to). That just wouldn't happen.
So to roll back the bids, we would have to simply say wek 9 is a mulligan for FA pickups. That would still leave the situation for people like you who don't have FAs for week 9. I suppose we could give everyone their weekly average (as in your case) at QB from the first 8 weeks and then allow EVERYONE to bid on every player for week 10.
Is that a fairer solution?... Or will folks complain that getting your average QB points when you would have "only had" Romo for this week is too much of an advantage for guys who didn't have a QB this week.
I can see both sides..."
Wierd that even after having time to realize his mistake he is sticking to his guns. Pride is an amazing thing sometimes.
So when is pre-registration and where do I send my check? LOL

So when is pre-registration and where do I send my check? LOL I don't agree, but that's just one man's opinion. Yes, it would have been tough to get a hold of 840 team owners, but a mass e-mail and then phone calls to those who lost the winning bids would have been a good first step. Making a later FAAB deadline would have gotten everyone's attention and brought everyone up to speed. Those who had the winning bids could have taken the chance that it was still high enough or adjust that bid. It's not ideal either way, but sticking to the stated rules would have been my choice. Nobody should benefited by the technical glitch.
You don't have to pay by check as we take credit cards here at the NFFC. We just need your contact info and commitment and we'll settle up by Aug. 1, 2007. Sound good? Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] and you'll be one of the first on the list for 2007. First round of drinks are on me if you're coming to Las Vegas, okay? You do drink, don't you? Just an FYI: I'm from Wisconsin and it's always cocktail hour somewhere in the world, so any time of the day is good for me to put down a cold one!
Welcome aboard. Win the $200,000 over there first and then spend it freely over here next year!
Thanks Greg!

Gekko won the 2004 title from the 13th spot. Some teams hit on the right two guys late in the draft this year and are doing well. But anytime you can start out with LT or LJ the way they are scoring lately has to be a plus. I'm a gamer myself and if I had my choice it would be Top 3 this year, or Top 7 over bottom 7. I won't tell a lie.
The BBDS is a great concept and it makes for a fun debate on our message boards. But if you want the real test of getting the exact players that you want on Draft Day, then the auction is the perfect format. You have a shot at EVERY player in an auction league.
Again, I love the fact that our Message Boards are open for debate and new ideas. I'll gladly implement those ideas that help improve the NFFC. KDS was a positive for us and in the future maybe BBDS will be the cure all. Time will tell.

I have been with WCOFF for 5+ years since from Day 1. I have never publically criticised WCOFF or Lenny and have always given them the benefit of the doubt. I have alwasy trusted the organization to do what is right and what is in the best interest of it's participants. Until yesterday.
I'm also NOT a conspiracy theorist and I like to go off facts and evidence in front of me. But in this case, I believe there was more to the decision than meets the eye. I'm not a lawyer, I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn last night and I don't have proof of what I am about to say, but I 100% believe this is what happened.
After the Xperts system went crazy and processed bids at 8:00am instead of pm, I don't think it took anyone at the WCOFF office too long to realize how much sh!t they were in. I'm sure they became fully aware that regardless of how the situation was resolved, it was going to case major complains from the customer and that the gravity of this situation could lead to legal exposure. Thus, in my opinion, on the advice of the attoreys, the decision was made to leave the bids as they are and run the 8:00pm bids as usual. Why? Simple - the disclaimer in the WCOFF rules which protects the organization in case of internet or website malfinction, technical problems, etc, etc. In my opinion, and likely in the opinion of the attorneys, the early bidding run clearly fell under the protection of this article in the rules. The legal exposure was limited. Now, if they were to start rolling back the bids, resetting the players and moving the bidding deadline back to Saturday, etc, THIS would in turn put the responsibility and the negligence on the organization. Whatever they did and whomever would then be negatively impacted by THEIR decisions could show that it was the WCOFF decision making was a breach of contract and the responsibility lay with them. Negligence and therefore - responsibility - would then transfer from website's technical malfunction, which was under the protection of the disclaimer TO the WCOFF organization itself. This would be legal exposure which I believe that no attorney would advise to their client.
I basically kept silent throughout most of the craziness on the WCOFF boards and I did not see a reason to post these suspicions there today but I needed to get this off my chest so thanks for listening. I'm not going to trash Lenny or the WCOFF. I believe they made a business decision. I also believe it was a wrong decision in terms of their customers. That's it - case closed, as far as I am concerned.

I was one of the minority on WCOFF I guess that saw the wrong in how things were decided and handled, but god forbid Lenny ever own up to such a gross mistake in judgement! I will register and be on the mailing list to hopefully get a spot next year. It appears at least one difference is the way things are run here with a little bit of class and integrity. Kudos to you and look forward to joining on.
Craig Williams Yo, Hard Heads! Jules, here...your League 53-mate from last year in the WCOFF (congrats again on the league championship!)
WELCOME TO THE NFFC!!
As you can already tell it is a vastly different climate.
The handling of yesterday's FA disaster by the WCOFF is completely UNACCEPTABLE in my book. I can't believe that opinion would put us in the minority! Anyway, you'll have a blast playing in the NFFC, see ya in Vegas!

Nag, very interesting viewpoint. I almost feel that sticking to the rules -- which is an 8 p.m. Friday deadline -- would have kept everyone legally sound than any other move. I mean, if the FAAB bids ran on Wednesday or Thursday, would you have allowed them as well? Of course not. I'm not a lawyer either, but I almost feel like admitting your mistake and still keeping the FAAB deadline as the rules state would have legally been the right move. But again, I don't know that for a fact.
Your point makes sense, though.

Nag, you've presented an interesting take on yesterday's events. If what you're saying is correct, then why the conflicting e-mails -- one saying to re-enter bids and the other that bids would stand? Why did Emil take a poll -- one that only certain non-junior members could vote on? Why were those poll results used by Emil as a reason for their decision?
Given the events of 3pm to 5pm, I don't believe there was any direction from an attorney here. Rather, I see it as mismanagement and indecisiveness.
