There will be scraps with potential available EVERY WEEK...if you think anything is possible.
Not one of the ones you mentioned was available in my league in the aftermath of this problem.
Not saying I'm not an idiot...but I doubt I am.

WCOFF FAAB SNAFU
Out of respect for the very talented PINE ISLAND who was euthanized after Saturdays running of the Breeders Cup Distaff, please stop beating this dead horse.
Note: Pine Island was the 5/2 co-favorite who sustained a life ending injury.
Note: Another horse in that race, Fleet Indian (the other co-favorite), was severly injured but should make a recovery.
I liken the WCOFF to Fleet Indian. Initially it was feared that Fleet Indian might have suffered a life-threagthining injury but now it seems that she will be ok to breed. I think the WCOFF is a thoroughbred that will recover and breed again if we just give her a chance.
If Lenny had pulled the WCOFF "up" like Jose Santos did 6 furlongs into the race to save her, he might have been able to squash some of the angst that snowballed into pandamonium.
Bottom Line: Last Friday was a sad time for ALL Fantasy Football Players. This unfortunate event has tainted that entire event and SHOULD have Fantasy Sports providers scurrying to question whether or not the proper safeguards are in place to ensure that this does not happen again. Fantasy Sports are trying to make this "game" a legitimate entity and scandals/errors of this magnitude hurt the movement as a whole and prolonging this discussion cannot have a positive effect on anything.
Suggestion: Let this issue rest. Let the WCOFF recover as I believe that it is in the best interest of all concerned, including the NFFC.
Disclaimer: I certainly did not mean to offend anyone by showing the photo of the horse that gave her life last Saturday, I merely thought the analogy was fitting. If you are offended, I apologize.

Some might want to say that using the analogy above,
1) The NFFC should be Fleet Indian (survived)
and
2) The WCOFF was Pine Island (put down)
This is a natural way to look at this issue but I like to think of the NFFC as "Round Pond". The horse that won the race and paid $29.80 to win.

... Ted , you seem like a good guy , so don't take this wrong... but comparing a tragedy like Pine Island to what happen with the Computer Glitch in that Football League is just wrong. You seem to have a passion for the Thoroughbred game, so I believe you when you say you meant no offence to us Equine Lovers, but really, its just been a bad year for us racing fans. First Barbaro and Now Pine Island, and Fleet Indian aint out of the woods yet. But even going back to Charismatic, when The Ant Man jumped off his back in the stretch and held his leg up till the ambulance arrived, Then them finding Chris Antly dead in his apartment a year latter after an overdose. I don't know how many guys here follow the Thoroughbreds, but it truly is a sport of Kings, These animals are majestic, and the jockeys are truly among the bravest athletes in sports, Riding 45 miles an hour on a 2000 lb. animal in a herd, is truly the most excilerating thing in sports, if you don't believe me, ask if you can go along for a ride sometime..lol, if you ever just sat on the rail at a track you can feel that charge of energy go through you as they thunder past. Anyway, if your interested, which it sounds to me you may be, check out the thoroughbred network. com and punch in Barbaro.... it is truly amazing what this doctor and horse are overcoming, all those screws and plates and infections.... TRULY AMAZING..!

D-Day: I have the utmost respect for the Horses and Jocks and follow the sport closely (some would say too closely).
I took an old phrase, "Stop Beating this Dead Horse" and tried to apply it here in a way that I thought made sense. I thought these two horses and the event from Saturday made for an analogy that might reach some of the folks.
I was truly saddened by Saturdays Distaff and truly meant no disrespect. I have been at the track on several occasions when a horse "broke-down" and I can tell you that it always makes me think about my involvement in the sport. It always makes me question why "we" put these beautiful animals thru all of this for our enjoyment.
Yes, there is really no comparing a tragedy like this to a "Fantasy Game" and I wasn't really trying to do that, I was trying to make a correlation between the events that transpired and make a point. Sorry
You mention Charismatic, I was at the Derby that year in the infield and won about $5900 on the trifecta that year. I was all over him and was sickened by his injury.
2006 BC: Luckily for me I was "big" on "Invasor" to salvage the day. That horse is a monster. I had the late double too with "Red Rocks" in the JD Turf.
Feel free to post any Pony thoughts on a link in the "non-football" link or email me when you see some "value". I am always willing to "look".

Ted ... You sound like a True Race Fan. I Am always torn by the same question, and my sister , who is a vet tech, can't get how I love Horses and still love the Track, and it is a conflict in interest I deal with. My reasoning behind playing the ponies, comes down to the sincere belief that they are better cared for better treated, and better all around because of this Game, than they would be without it, and sometimes you just have to take the bad with the good, like with all things in life. Now maybe I'm just trying to justify me " Love of the Track ", but I truly believe the horses are better with than with out this Sport..!
