Get it yet ? If bidding for slots limits the market because its too complicated, they should just scrap the whole FAAB concept.

Then, the market would open up to the large fantasy contingent that can't count to 1,000 and don't understand the phrase "conditional bid". They'd just blow the doors off next year if they did that!

[/QUOTE]Try to be more productive with your time and figure out how to eliminate dead beat owners and solutions for this problem that can and WILL impact the outcome of leagues.

You keep saying "Charlie"...us fantasy geeks do not need to know what perfurme your mommy wore back in 1979.

Also, one recommendation...stop using the word "thanks" in all of your posts...stealing that from Lenny is punishable by law.

Thanks.

No comment on the preceding commentary, but an honest question for Gekko --

Why the secrecy with the name?
Hello. My name is Lee Scoresby. I come from Texas, like flying hot-air balloons, being eaten by talking polar bears and fantasy football.

Secrecy is needed when dealing with “undesirables”...LE, aka, charlie , etc…

THANKS!

You've got to be the only one out of 224 using an alias.

I guess your name will always remain a big secret considering we will NOT be seeing it on the $100,000 check.

Muhahaha

Question to all out there and NNOY, I'm staying with the theme of the thread :D , tell us how your local leagues determine draft position and also for those of us like me who are not in the WCOFF, how do they do it? Since we have one idea for change out there, let's get some more.

In my local league, we drew from a deck of cards, first to determine selection order and again to determine draft order. Primitive but effective. I have used a lot of different methods. Most leagues don’t allow selection of spots (the aforementioned Kentucky Derby Style.) I have used playing cards, put 14 pennies in a cup with different years on them, drawn names off of paper etc.

The best draft I ever ran was a partial blind sealed bid draft for an NBA league. We had 20 teams (yep 20 for one NBA league) and each team got a $100 cap. The first 5 rounds were partial blind sealed bid, followed by an auction.

For the 5 rounds of blind bid everyone put in for a player. If no one else selected your player then you got him for $10. If anyone else put in for that guy then there was a bid-off between any owners that selected him. First round: Nobody puts in for Shaq. Second Round: Nobody puts in for Shaq again. Third Round: 9 of the 20 owners put in for Shaq and he goes for $71. Needless to say the Shaq team ended up with a losing record.

I know the Fantasy Four league that folded before getting started last year was going to have the draw for draft positions the Friday night before the draft. I don't think it was going to be any different than what was done here except you would be able to watch it.

Was in one league where dice roll determined your draft position with the first person rolling 2 or 12 getting the choice of the #1 spot.
