Bidding for draft position question....
Lets say, for example, I am only interested in draft postions 1, 5, 6 or 14... How do you see me entering a "blind bid"?
Are we thinking about submitting one dollar value and then assigning slot 1 to the highest, 2 to the next highest... etc, all the way to 14 with the lowest? If so, I can say for certain that I would bid more for slot 14 than I would for 13 or 12. So that would not work for me.
Thoughts?
Thanks - Pete Everyone would fill out a bid sheet like this:
Position 1 $236
Position 2 $192
Position 3 $111
Position 4 $4
Position 5 $3
Position 6 $2
Position 7 $1
Position 8 $1
Position 9 $1
Position 10 $1
Position 11 $2
Position 12 $14
Position 13 $23
Position 14 $38
Greg would gather all 14 of these sheets in front of him and then find the highest dollar bid on any sheet for any position...
Let's say someone bid $915 for slot #1.
He awards that position to that owner, discards that owners remaining bids and crosses out slot #1 from everyone else's bid sheet.
He then finds the next highest dollar figure for any position on any of the remaining bid sheets.
He awards that, crosses out the sheets, etc.
If there are ties, you form a tiebreaker bid or flip a coin.
All the way until all positions are awarded to the highest blind bid.
Make sense?
GG - did you have something else in mind? I believe this is how you explained it to me months ago?

It's actually all set in the rules, but if unanimous agreement was made to change the size of the league and the format of the draft, etc. then it would obviously be changed.
If a unanimous decision cannot be reached than the rules listed on the front page of the game will rule.
Not too hard to believe!!

While we're at it, would it be possible to add the "Flex Position Option" to the Ultimate League as well? Half points for QBs, of course...

Yeah, if you go to 16 I'd be interested

I'm not proposing any changes to our current Ultimate League rules, to be honest. However, I did want to let everyone know that there might be more interest in a second league and if it happens great. If not, we'll stick with 14 teams and have my kids pick the draft spots. The 16-team format was thrown out there just to see the feedback it would generate. But it wouldn't be fair to present that change; too drastic after taking signups.
I hate picking these draft slots with so much on the line. I'd love to have the draft slot bidding process someday. GG and Dyv need to "get out the vote" and buy political TV ads to sway the nation on this! When that happens, the NFFC will oblige!

Yeah, if you go to 16 I'd be interested Matt, a second Ultimate League probably has a better chance than the $1,250 Auction League right now. Jersey Dawg is on the waiting list and George Kleemann is on the waiting list and maybe one more. You'd be No. 4 if you're serious. Yikes, maybe there's hope for a second Ultimate League after all! Let's keep it going.
